Where do you do your overseas online shopping?

I have been buying general toys and small items from aliexpress for few years. I saw fair few comments similar to "aliexpress is for noobs".. Where do you guys buy when you are buying from an overseas market place?

Those eBay places that say they’re in Sydney but turn out to be in Guangzhou.

  • I used to use Aliexpress more often, but they made a change to their site that makes you choose a city from a list…my city isn't listed, so I have to pick a nearby one with the same postcode. For smaller orders I don't sweat it and just make a note of the actual address, but I'm not going to risk it for something more expensive.

I also order a lot from Amazon US and a bit from eBay US, but I have family there who can repackage and reship for me. If I time it right (around a kid's birthday or Christmas) they may even pick up the shipping cost as a bonus present.

  • i use aliexpress for most, as they have a great search function, communication etc. i do see some products cheaper on banggood, so if im curious i'll do a google search and find which of the multiple china sellers have it for the best price and best reputation.
if youve got the skills (i.e. chinese friends or relatives) you can go deeper and buy from taobao where theres limited english.
