INTERVIEW: TPB Founder Talks about Online Music and New Startup Flattr

Facing a possible jail sentence and USD4.5m fine, TPB founder Peter Sunde remains bullish about the state of the record industry and TPB's role in shaping the distribution of online music. No stranger to controversy, he now heads social micropayments platform Flattr, which was recently revealed as an alternative method of donating to whistle-blowing website, WikiLeaks. In this interview he talks about banning records, concerns over the cloud and why no content is really free.

TPB has been down for me all day

¤ Where do you stand now with the mass copyright infringement trial and the appeal?
We’re waiting for dates from the Supreme Court. But we’ll win in the end; that’s the one thing we learnt from Hollywood - the good guys always win in the end.

    nice!

Even if TPB did go away, it would be close to impossible to close down ALL torrent sites

Look at mnnova—> this basically shut down now, and TPB has taken over
If TPB did shut down—> There still are plenty left(ishunt, 1337.org, btjunki*, heaps more)

ya so true , they should offer products at low cost if they want to curb piracy. research has shown people are willing to buy as long as prices are reasonable.
