Car Battery Holder / Clamp - Tool-Less Quick Release

Anyone came across proper kit for Tool-Less Quick Release Car Battery Holder / Clamp ?

Not referring to the terminal but the battery clamp holder/bracket itself.

I know you can finger twist open the standard clamp nut but it's a sloppy process as it's easy to drop the nut and the steel rod just drops itself down to nowhere after released from the nut/bracket.

I'm after something which is quick where you can remove and refit the battery in seconds.

Thanks.

I know the option of relocating the battery to boot, enclosed within a latched battery box for quick access. Just wonder if there's anything out there that doesn't require battery relocation.

  • put the correct size socket into a cordless drill?
why do you need such quick access to remove the battery?

      To remove the battery quicker.

  • How often are you removing the battery?

What about a cage and ratchet strap?

    • you mean custom cage fixed to existing battery tray ?

not sure i can custom that myself, unless using battery box but seems too bulky won't fit

      • i dont understand the problem you're trying to solve.

        • basement carpark doesn't have GPO

i seldom drive so i'm thinking of removing the battery to trickle charge it at home and refit it everytime i want to drive hence has to be quick and easy

anyway, found the clasp strap below but not sure about longevity of plastics,
probably has velcro type selling somewhere

@dcep: why not get a battery isolator switch. Or buy a jump starter battery pack

            • @Davo1111: I already remove the -ve everytime after driving but it loses charge on short trips.

              And, jump starter kills battery.

          • @dcep: If you want a strap type setup, I doubt Velcro would hold very well unless you had a really large contact area. Your battery is meant to be restrained so that it doesn't move and get thrown about in an accident, just a small movement can be enough to short out the terminals on crushed panels, causing a battery explosion or sparks onto fuel etc. I'd recommend using some tiedowns like they use to secure loads in trailers etc. The cambuckle type would probably be most suitable for a battery. The shortest ones should be better so you don't have a lot of loose end floating around in the engine bay to get caught in the fan, or have to thread a long strap every time you want to use it. Also you don't need to cut it and seal the end so it doesn't keep fraying. They make very short ones for lashing ladders to roof racks that should be an ideal length. Check Supercheap Auto or Bunnings for starters. https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/gripwell-gripwell-ladder…

          • @dcep: Sounds like a lot of trouble. Batteries are heavy! Get an isolators switch and a jump starter.

            • @Euphemistic: I already remove the -ve everytime after driving but it loses charge on short trips.

              • @dcep: Tbh i think there are other reasons why the battery is draining.

but anyway, i would use a ratchet strap, battery box (or similar sized container), and some quick release plugs like this probably in a higher amperage though
