RX 580 OC 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB ?

I basically want a cheaper kind of PC, just to run games such as CSGO and League of Legends, PUB G at roughly 120+ Frames with decent quality. Is it worth me buying a PC Cheap or should i just save up for something a lot better or wait for a nice deal to come.

Thanks

  • Sorry what do you need to know? Are you asking about a cheap PC, or which GPU to buy? The RX 580 and GTX 1060 are roughly the same price.

They perform very similar so perhaps check if your games support Cuda (= Nvidia technology). The RX 580 uses more power too.

  • Both will run PUBG at 120fps on competitive/low settings, assuming your CPU and ram aren't bottlenecking your performance.

  • 2060 comes out in a week…

  • +3

wait AMD Key note 4 am

  • You should probably wait for the RTX 2060, it will be the best bang for buck from nVidia for a while.
Its also worth noting the next nVidia driver (Jan 15th) will support freesync monitors, so that makes choosing a monitor even easier.

  • Assuming you can't wait for new cards/announcements, thinking in terms of an entertainment investment for a few years:
    AMD:
    - The RX580 is probably better due to AMD's poor drivers (takes years for the card to reach it's full potential).
    - The extra RAM could be useful in a few years for higher resolutions.
    - Freesync

    Nvidia:
    - Much better OpenGL support if you ever get into things which demand it like console emulation (Cemu or Yuzu)
    - I haven't looked into it at all, but look into what ry34 said about nVidia supporting freesync.

  • Aight thanks for the comments guys, actually learning something ahahhaa

  • Nothing major to report from the AMD keynote, at least not in this price range.
