Nokia 8GB Micro SDHC $14.95 & $0 Shipping Saturday 16/04/2011 Only

50

For $14.95 pickup or free delivery, this is the cheapest Nokia made MicroSD card I have seen so far. They are class 4 speed rating. I went to their shop and bought 2. One for my camera and the other for my phone. Don't think you can find it anywhere else.

Their shop at 135 Church St, Parramatta 2150

There are different speeds of SD card available. The official unit of measurement is the Speed Class Rating; an older unit of measurement is the × rating.

Speed Class RatingThe Speed Class Rating is the official unit of speed measurement for SD Cards, defined by the SD Association. The Class number represents a multiple of 8 Mbits/s (1 MB/s), and meets the least sustained write speeds for a card in a fragmented state.

These are the ratings of all currently available cards:

      Class 2, 2 MB/s
      Class 4, 4 MB/s
      Class 6, 6 MB/s
      Class 10, 10 MB/s

      • Thanks for this mobileciti - for someone who loves technology, but struggles to understand it sometimes, I appreciate that you took the time & effort to post this for me/us :)

Remember - the Class is the speed of WRITING… and is (mostly) important for Cameras. The speed of reading is often vastly different - a Class 2 card might read (playback) faster than a Class 4 card of another brand!

For a camera, the class is really important! A class 10 card can theoretically mean that the time in between 2 photos is 5 times shorter. This makes the camera heaps more responsive.

So, the class only matters when you are writing files to the card. For playback of music etc the Class doesn't matter.
