Buying Lotto tickets online

I noticed some are cheaper than others eg 12 games(few buck difference)

Anyone actually sussed out which is cheaper altogether?

There only seems to be 3 or so main players

(I went to Ozlotteries)

    • Yup, I found Oz cheapest for 12 games. However, another was cheaper for 18. It's a bit confusing.

      • well go for the cheaper provider for games you after :)

I honestly thought all prices would be set across the board? I'm surprised they have different prices.

          • @[Deactivated]: why would they? This is like electricity companies selling power at different rate, same product. Its our job to shop around. :)

            • @boomramada: Just assumed it was a set rate, my bad 🤦‍♂️

@boomramada: i believe the lott website is run by the lottery companies and the pricing should be the same as you'd get at your local newsagent.

ozlotteries set themselves up before there was any online presence from the official guys, and had a markup on all ticket types I ever checked. I just went and compared the tickets that I buy and they are all around 10-20% higher on there.

@[Deactivated]: I believe in lot of things, but reality is different.
Im no expert, but buying through agent is the cheapest, then https://thelott.com/ and then https://www.ozlotteries.com/

ozlotteries online been around for while and their interface is better.

As Tatts (Government licensed operator) control most of the lottires then they rebranded as thelott and ozlotteries is a private company.

There is no standard in pricing, for lotto and powerball.

  • Have used thelotter.com a couple of times, they have access to the big overseas draws as well.

Not sure how to compare the prices though: https://www.thelotter.com/lottery-tickets/australia-powerbal…

    • Basically check every website, compare X amount of games
I only did Powerball, but I'll have aook later and try compare a few different types

  • I've seen lottery sold at my local woolies caltex servo. I also assume u can use your wish giftcards there for 5% off.

I don't often buy lottery so don't Knoe of its actually cheaper

  • +1

Well I grabbed 25 games at my local IGA and it was $29.50
Ozlotteries is $33.75 for 25 games

It's much cheaper to buy locally than online it seems

Thelotter is around $34 with 20% discount

    https://thelott.com/ $29.50

Therefore https://thelott.com/ is the winner for online, same price as local agent. INREGARDS TO POWERBALL, I havent compared others.
