Small Milk Jug with a LID

Are these so rare I must pay so much?

If I can find one they seem to be $50 or more with postage.

I'd like ceramic of some kind (porcelain etc).
Next preference enamel metal.
I can settle for glass.
I don't really want to settle for steel or chrome metal but I may be that desperate.

By small I mean tea tray milk jug size - 1 Litre is too big.

Used is fine.

here is one - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/G1691-Cream-Jug-with-Lid-Milk-Ju… but postage and gst make it over $50

here is another - https://www.amara.com/au/products/teema-milk-jug-with-lid-wh…
$67 with postage

I guess it is supply and demand - but why is supply so small? - am I the only person who doesn't want bugs and coughs in my milk?!

  • Nah I got like a salt and pepper brand one from Myer. Just go to a shop and look, that sort of thing will be expensive online

  • You are not the only one. My Mum has always used crocheted milk jug covers. She has several of them.

  • Check kmart or other cheap shop look for tea pot then jug , then you will find cheap and smaller size. And check opshop no one can beat op shop.

maybe get this and use glad wrap?

if you cant find one thats reasonable, why dont you use another teapot and fill it up with milk?

  • Is 160ml small enough?

$9.95 + $9.95 shipping unless you can arrange freebie click&collect from their store in Mt Kuringai

  • Seems like milk jug / creamer are mostly open top including expensive brands eg Royal Doulton. I'd say that is the traditional design and lids are a later addition so not as highly sort after.

    $31 Enamel Milk Can?

Generally a milk jug is really for serving, so not something you'd keep milk in for more than 15 minutes before a meal, with the milk staying in its carton/bottle (and in the fridge) before then.
