I always find the staff at Mrs Fields (at sydney westfield) at little stand-offish when I try and use a coupon (Entertainment book, OptusPerks, etc) … wonder why they agreed to participate in this promo…
I especially hate being treated like a criminal whenever I want an advertised freebie. Parasite, yes, but not a criminal.
Not to mention the underhanded wording of the promotions they run at Mrs Fields. The offer a few years ago was "buy one cookie and coffee, get one free" but the cookie and cookie and coffee had to be purchased at their individual prices, not the combo price that plastered all over the store, so the whole promo netted out to be a 50c discount.
How rude! The older guy that sometimes works there always used to try & upsell whenever I bought a cookie …no, I do not want 4 large cookies, just the one is fine nor do I want a bottle of water with that!
I love this initiative! Free coffee is trying to promote reusable cups and it's a great way to do it.
Tip: For $1.50, you can buy a mug from Kmart and get a week's worth of free coffee. Not only that, a lot of cafes also give either a discount or upsize for BYO cups :)

I wonder if "coffee" means just coffee, ala 7-Eleven, or hot beverage, ala Hungry Jacks, Hey You, and friends.
How are they going to limit one per customer per day? Upstairs , downstairs, morning tea, afternoon tea. Could easily get 3-4 coffees daily if you can handle the caffeine
Afternoon tea before 10am??
Keep coffee in fridge and drink in arvo. You'll need an afternoon pick up after that caffeine hit.
I'll go KFC 24 nuggets for my arvo pick up

Nah. Unless they tatoo you, you can get as much as you can handle.
Taste, Level 2 is particularly good coffee.
