Curtain Rods (or any types of plain straight rods, poles, sticks, etc)

Does anyone know where to find a cheap telescopic rods with home delivery?
The cheapest one I can find is $6 up to 3 m length from IKEA (https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/80217152/). However shipping is $49…
I can also pick it from other stores such as target, myer, kmart, bigw, etc. However, getting to IKEA with public transport just takes too much time, more than 1 hour each way.

UPDATE:
Looking for the rod that can be extended to 3m. A tension rod is even better if it is not too expensive.

    • Thanks, but I am looking for the ones that can be extended to 3m. And it is not cheaper than the IKEA ones :(

And it’s also rubbish. I bought it and am not happy with the fact my curtains get stuck on the middle part.
I would spend the $20 or whatever it is for the full length spotlight rods. They look much nicer. Extender ones in general are terrible.

I remember buying curtain rods and having to carry it on the train. I felt like Gandalf taking public transport.

    • You shall not pass!

    • So it is a good experience then?

Where do you live? Know anyone near an IKEA that might be visiting soon?
Edit: the ikea one is not a tension one, it needs all the other parts as well, each sold separately.

  • As Martinj said, the Ikea one:

The length is adjustable. You can easily change the expression of the curtain rod by changing to different finials from our range. The finials are sold separately.

Your price expectations are unrealistic, and you'd be better off getting one of those curtain rods that are in sections with a connecting portion.

    • I don't really need the finials. Actually, I only need a basic pole/stick that is rigid and long enough (at least 2 metre) so anything will do if it is cheaper than the IKEA ones.

      • Oh, go around your neighbourhood and look for old furniture/etc people have put out on their lawns.

        • I live in an apartment in the CBD, there are no lawns..

          • @leiiv: Are you able to walk to a place that isn't purely highrises…?

      • Any (wild or otherwise) bamboo in your neighbourhood?

        • Yes, on the council gardens. But I don't have the tools to cut them either LOL.

          • @leiiv: Also pretty sure if they're on council gardens they're not "wild" and you're not allowed to just cut them down for your own use…

  • I can also use something like this:
    https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Tension-Curtain-Rod/dp/B…

But Amazon does not sell them here.

  • I’ve just had to replace all of our curtain rods, I wanted thicker ones and not the thin poles. After much searching, I settled on the IKEA ones and am happy with them, both quality and price wise.

    • Where are your old thin poles now?

      • Being re-used elsewhere.

  • telescopic curtain rods are so crap.

wish my mrs didnt replace all the ones in the house with these telescopic pieces of crap
