Sccopon Dodgy Deals

Guys,

It seems that the company (Sccopon) is a serial pest. In February purchased house cleaning for full hous for $49 via Sccopons-company associated with Catch of the Day and Shop Clearances - whose directors are listed and Gabby Liebovich - for a company called Diamond Cleaning.

Bought the vouchers, took ages (nearly 4 weeks, even though vouchers have a 6 months use by date)to get the cleaners to commit to a time, which they commit to for a four hour window you have to wait for. They didnt turn up, called the booking centre which is overseas and they advise they will email and call you back, they don't.

Eventually got hold of the mobile numbers for both the supervisor of the cleaning company and the owners to try to contact them - one goes to an optus voice mailbox that is full, the other to a vodaphone with response that it continually advises number is unreachable.

Sent numerous emails to Scoopon and CatchoftheDay which owns scoopon, nothing but an automated response. This is pathetic. Advised them that I would be reporting the issue to consumer affairs - even that didn't elicit a response, so I have reported it to them to the Victorian Consumer Affairs

Sent a followup email advising I wanted my money back or would also go to Police for obtaining property by deception and also the media - no response.

Have also gone to credit card provider, who have placed item into dispute - they and consumer affairs sem to be the only ones taking action.

Phone numbers for company don't allow you past the reception unless you know which extension to call. Company was located in Moorabbin, not sure if it is still owned by company associated with shop clearances. Don't know what else to do, they simply do not respond to requests, so a forum alerting people to the issues, and people power seems the way

Reported to your website with automated response at 1:16 pm and again at 2:51pm on Saturday, sent on Monday at 8:40am, 11:26am, 2:08pm, 4:21pm and again at 6:55pm then again today at 12:21. Why is this the only forum which elicits a response. You have both my mobile number and the history of the event. I wish to have my money refunded in full. pllease respond to my email requests

    Hello team scoopon,

i have provided the information as requested on both this site and also on your website, but have as yet to have this generate a response. I am unhappy which is probably the most polite way of explaining my current views. To date I have had no satisfaction with the experience with your company, and only used it as I have previously used and been very happy with Catch Of The Day - it lulled me into trusting an assoicated website - oh silly me.

As I have advised in prior emails, if I do not receive a response before 5:00pm my next action is to call Gabby to discuss the performance of his company, and if no satisfaction there, as I have already logged the issue with the Victorian Consumer Affiars Complaints section. Form there the actions are pretty easy, advise a friend in the press and see if they or advertising friends can have it and the various trials and tribulations of posters here complaining about potential scams put onto TT or ACA and then report it to the Victoria Police.

Team Scoopn, the choice is yours and the clock is ticking as they say

      Dear Team Scoopon,

please be advised that I have sent you this information via the customerservice email link. Not only many times, but also in a consolidated email - hope that your filter doesn't block large emails - which tracks the history of my emails to you, together with each of your automated responses. Not only this was sent, but the ticket id's for each of the responses, because each one is issued with a new id. But wait, there's more, I also sent you full details of each of the coupon numbers, which it seems other posters suggest incorporating in order to facilitate the refund - one less item for you to suggest wasn't incorporated. Further information sent by email and NOT over a public forum by which you are unwilling to provide support, but which is the only manner in which responses are elicited, are my contact details etc.

please advise that the refund is being processed

      • Hey demon62,

I think each time you send info on a ticket to scoopon, your matter goes to the bottom of the pile. Oldest in, first out. zAny new info makes the whole matter "new" and therefore begins a wait in the Q again.

Votoften, thanks, this has in fact been confirmed by the company, and is I think there way of delaying live response. Even when they email back, it seems that the queueing system happens? think this is the case.

Dear All, I am finally happy to report that the company has processed my refund, it only took calls to the directors of the company, numerous emails to the firm, which they auto reposnded to and report of this to the Department of Consumer affairs in Melbourne. My calls to the company went unresponded to and not even the advise that I would be reporting them to the police prompted action. I think that the company has got to improve its service standards and take responsibility for deals it does. They process payments and the business model sees them hold payment until service is delivered. I think that they rely on apathy as part of the business model, no one will complain etc so they keep the money and dont respond.

For the record, my sister also bought the Diamond Cleaning House cleaning, same deal - they take a booking, she rings to confirm the day before - company states that they will email and sms to confirm (doesnt happen)- spent all morning waaiting, no show.

Lesson learned - DON'T use services without knowing who the delivery is by, and MAKE SURE they have a good rep.

Seems that neither party covered itself with glory and neither cares about rectification of issues.

Interesting, I am also struggling with Diamond cleaning, have had 2 no shows and the one time someone showed up it was a carpet cleaner (and not duct cleaning which I bought). I now have another date scheduled which they have "confirmed". On the the plus side, the last person I spoke to seemed really apologetic and helpful. We'll see…..

    • No shows are unacceptable. If they turned up and you weren't home for any reason, do you reckon they would give you another chance?

      Hi demon62 and slow,

If you're having trouble redeeming your Scoopons for a deal provider, please send an email to our support team, and they will endeavour to get back to you as quickly as possible with more details to help you out.

      [email protected]

      Kind Regards,
      Team Scoopon.

  • Hi, It is an unfortunate relief to hear that it is not just me this has happened to.
I too purchased a Scoopon deal for $49 with the Diamond Cleaning Group.
I called 4 times, left two messages with the customer service reps (who were rude and clearly not interested) and sent an email to Scoopon before someone called me to make a booking.
When I finally got a booking, no one turned up or called to inform me no one was able to come.
I called them repeatedly but have only got through once to customer service (overseas). I left my name and details and requested my money be refunded but alas, nothing.

I call every second or third day to either get a hang up, beeping noise, automated lie or none picks up at all.

Friday 13/5 - automated response to "stay on the line and someone will answer your call soon" which they don't! Would like to see how much that call will cost me - being on hold for 15 minutes.

I called Friday Mon 16/5 received an engaged beeping signal all 10 times again.
Tuesday 17/5 - "This number is disconnected or unavailable".
Wednesday 18/5 - "This number is disconnected or unavailable".
I'm furious! Next course of action will be back to Scoopon I guess.

At least deamon62 has received a refund so there is some hope of resolving my problem.

I have bad bad experience with SCOOPON – they are Scam Artists and have absolute no respect for money paying members. They said it to me loud and clear that their only priority is to promote business and thus if their paying member is cheated they care less about it.

They have terrible communication methods and i suspect foul play in their problem
resolving procedures, they treated me like a dirt and their company is
an unreliable to do business with.

I hope good business are looking at this forums and would stay away from them as would the paying members.

Well coming to how i was cheated and treated like a dirt – I took scoopon of wheel alignment from respectable company, i went to one place after taking appointment, to my surprise i was told it will take 1 and half hour to touch my car and was also told rubbish about my wheel size and i should have bought wheels from them etc etc. My mistake was i still went ahead and gave them keys and me and my wife went out for a walk, now he thought it will be one hour atleast till i return but to his dismay we were back in 10 min and had made up our mind to wait there, well surprise surprise – car was in another parking bay and i was told alignment was done as soon as i left. When i told its just 10 min i was given obnoxious reply that it was actually 30 min – rubbish and proof would be their cameras and they cannot give me any written report on my wheel alignment as it was not a part of deal. well a bit of argument went no where and i thought of complaining to scoopon and also the companies national complain centre.

Again to my astonishment wheel alignment companies national complain centre helped me by giving me another go at different store where i was also given written report which clearly stated no previous wheel alignment was done. Before going to the national complain centre i wrote to scoopon help desk and i was told they talked with the cheat store manager and they are sure i got the service and i was the one who is telling lies as they are sure i took more than 30 to return and in mean time my car work was done. How pathetic are scoopon people who will not believe their paying member but will take side of their business partner to get more business. Infact they got the shoe on their face as the same company helped me and not them.

Story is big and i have omitted many several details but plz anybody who is even reading this last line – SPEND YOUR MONEY WISELY AND STAY AWAY FROM SCOOPON – They are biggest scam artists around.

I have $39 Car service scoopon in my account which is unused i asked them to after going through such bad experience to refund me my money – the idiots there said they are ready to give me credit note of my previous bad experience but cant do anything about the unused one – OK lesson learnt never ever i will give my one cent to this fraud company and spread awareness against this company which has no policy to give refund to unsatisfied customers and has no ethics or values.

SCOOPON YOU ARE A SHAME TO AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS COMMUNITY
