Do you have a 4K HDR TV and want better graphics and visuals with better performance for future demanding games? PS4 Pro.

There are no real good deals going on for either at the moment due to a national shortage of supply in Australia. I do highly recommend a 1TB over 500GB though as many of the games lately are huge installs. With a 500GB system you're actually only left with just over 400GB for games because the OS takes up a bit. Just Red Dead Redemption 2 is around 100GB and Spiderman is over 50GB for example.

I have a 55" HDR Kogan TV and though it supports 4K the PS4 slim still looks great for the above two games I mentioned.

Yep, stop making my alerts go off people - no stock for the Pro until March (at EB and JB at least)

      • Not true. JB recently received new stock and EB will have new stock before March.

  • If you have 4k tv (or plan on getting 1) , then definitely get the pro , the small increase in cost will be worth it.
If I was going to get basic ps4, I would probably just pick 1 up second hand (should be worth only about $150 for used ps4).
Regarding 500gb/1tb etc, doesn't matter so much anymore, as you can use external drive to extend memory (including game installs, which take up the most, some over 100gb for 1 game) . Note if you go down this route, you cannot use the external drive for anything else once its formatted for ps4. Idk what you have, but plenty of people would have a spare 500gb or 1tb drive laying round. So could use that for ps4. Depends on how many games are going to be installed and especially so if getting a membership thing for 12 months (because they give you a game each month, never the best and latest games free, but they do take up lots of space all the same).

It's really not that hard to scroll through existing deals.

yep! also : https://www.finder.com.au/ps4-price This old chest nut of a question, of should I get a normal or a pro, and the answers of if you have a 4K tv sure, If not the normal one is fine.

      • That finder page is a bit outdated. The current price is over $100 more than the top 4 out of 5 results on that link

  • never the best and latest games free

Wouldn't say never as Onrush was released in June and was free in December. Got lots of rave reviews and I quite like it. Depends what you define as latest but at the time it was still being flogged of on EB and JB for full price.

If you are going down the external drive path make sure it's SATA III, not SATA II. The internal is only a II but with USB 3.0 you'll get faster speed
