Have We Reached Peak Stuff?

I was thinking about all those retailers going into administration and the PM urging people to buy stuff. Apart from a recently published rchased iPhone XS I havnt brought anything and don't feel the urge to buy anything anymore. Got my QC25s, a 2014 MacBook Pro and 13 pair of shoes in my closet that I've never worn. I clear about 1900 a week after tax and can scroll through oz bargain and not feel the urge to buy anything. I'm pretty much satisfied with the stuff I have and feel no inclination to upgrade. I'd love to take more holidays but can't take the time off. I think I'm coming to the point where accumulating more stuff just doesn't work for me. How about you? I know this goes beyond the spirit of ozbargain.

    wow, nice job!

  • Australia retailers does not put much brands on the shelves. They can put so many new brands across categories and price ranges. It will help to rejuvenate consumer interest. Make your stores and stuff you sell interesting and people will come visiting.

  • Yes you only need what you need.. it kind of confuses me why people have so much stuff but I get it.

The reminder of wealth and luxury and ultimately security is very reassuring that you are doing alright and not struggling.

I get definitely less than 1/5 of you financially and I find I still have some more extra to spare every week/fortnight but I am pretty frugal and kind of doing my own personal social experiment to see how I can live on nearly almost nothing at all and then seeing what I would like next or logically buy next etc.. the bare minimums and a little tiny bit of luxury.. so far it is cheap things like $1 torches and pens etc and the occasional food delivery here and there groceries and dinner etc.

Would be nice to be getting close to $2000 weekly though man.. but I wonder what the work life must be like to even attain that.

Wow. Sheesh. Grats to ya man. Buy yourself a beast computer and start developing or something. Can start your own new inventions or rnd business with that kind of money easily.
