$1 McCafe Coffee @ McDonald's via App

290

Just received this email from Ronald himself, I'm going to say this is targeted as they always are, but if you haven't ordered one recently (my last coffee order was roughly a week or so ago), you should be eligible.

Enjoy!

Haven't ordered one recently and not eligible.

  • I am not on a Maccas mailing list so I'll never be eligible.

  • Ive never ordered a coffee via the app, usually just get one as part of a meal, and I didnt get the offer

  • They use an algorithm for everything.

My oldest account has the $1 drink.

The newer accounts where I've ordered a smooth, delicious hot beverage only received a $2 promotion.

The clean accounts that were never used to purchase anything received nothing.

Recieved the we miss you email
Mine is for a $1 cheeseburger

  • Got this one

  • Got it on 1 account, thanks OP

  • Ouh yeah i will upvote because am targeted

  • So this is same quality as 711?

    • It's the same quality as Blend 43.

7-11 coffee actually has flavour and substance. YMMV if you are served by a "barista" though.

      • I actually disagree, though it has been a while since my last McCoffee, I've found 7-eleven (at least the 2 near me) are pretty horrible most of the time.. but it's $2 for a large one, so can't complain.

  • I wonder if we can stack this… with a free snack !!

Even if you were targeted for both deals (hint: you're not) you can only use 1 deal at a time anyway…

  • The 'new and improved' blend is really bad. There never is consistency between stores. They always taste different. I'd rather stick to an actual coffee store for the same price.

    • for the same price

      wut?? o.0

      • It's roughly 4.00 to 5.00 for a coffee at Maccas off the top of my head. Most independent, quaint lil coffee shops charge this same amount, don't they?

Yes. Almost always better. Maccas coffee only good if on promo.

        • @callum54: this is OzBargain; no one pays full price for nothing here!

    • I think you're exaggerating like most people, it's really not that bad.

      • I think not. Lol.

      • For its normal price, yeah it is.
For a dollar, some might change but I would still prefer 7-11, Coles Express or even Hungry Jack's coffee.

        • While I agree that it's not really worth the normal price, there's a reason 7-11/Coles Express coffee is cheap.

Yeah, because they realise they sell a lot more coffee at $1/80c than they would at $4.
For hand made coffee by a barista at a McCafe you would expect it to be better than a one touch self service coffee machine. The problems arise when a 14 year old burger-flipper makes your coffee, burns the beans, forgets to put sugar in, makes a cappuccino instead of a latte and wants to charge like a cafe.

Sure, that's one of the factors involved, but not the main reason.

I personally can tell the difference between the two, but I believe price definitely affects the taste for a lot of members on this site.

              • @magic8ballgag: I can certainly taste the difference when a barista makes a coffee versus a one touch machine.
It's just in Macca's case it's worse because 95% of the time the actual "barista" isn't making it (or makes it wrong)
I've had a good coffee from Macca's but they are few and far between.
