      Macbook pro can only be charged with Type-C to Type-C
      This is Usb 3.1 to Type-C so it will not charge Macbook pro

      Most use case of this cable is to charge Type-C Android phones I believe

        Some might use it for fast data transfers in phones and tablets to a PC.

        It states spec as usb 3.1 but does not list transfer speeds, and as there seems to be confusion in usb 3.1 ( Gen 1 &2 ) until you try it using compatible gear, you can not be sure.
