  If you're up for it, get a MIUI phone from an Aliexpress official store and flash stock Android onto it. Probably best value for money.

    Yeah that is an option, but as it's for a non tech savvy friend was wondering how much worse one from a local store with warranty would be?

      You could still get one with 'limited' warranty (Aussie protection and effective, but a bit more hassle than in-store). E.g. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/xiaomi-redmi-6a-16gb-gold-xiaom… with vouchers.

      Compare the difference with e.g. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/Outright-Mobile-Handsets/lg….

      Hopefully someone here knows a lot more can give you more options, but other than this the only other deals are waiting for an eBay sale or getting lucky with Woolies/Coles sale.

          @User2049: If B28 is a must/biggest priority, the Nokia's might be a go. Maybe compare the specs of the Redmi vs. the Nokia 3's to see how much B28 is worth. Hopefully another Woolies deal pops up!
