    Stihl ones rock :)

    • Agreed.

Husqvarna is good too sadly neither has successfully transitioned to battery.

How many acres are you doing and how many trees? Petrol blowers come in many sizes and you don't want to be under or overpowered. I could finish a quarter acre with a battery powered blower before you can set up a backpack petrol blower. Conversely, a battery or even a small petrol blower is a non starter for 10acre++.

Ps. For a inner city unit, I can finish with a broom before you fetch the blower.

Stihl. Never ever serviced it or maintained it and it's still going strong after 6 years on old fuel. Oh, and it's the loudest in the neighbourhood. Every Sunday morning at 8 am I win.

All my neighbours seem to need to use loud power tools on Sunday morning, I just try to integrate and impress them.

          Could just be marital aides.

  • I've got a petrol Stihl, the most powerful one (hence very loud). I prefer overpowered as you can always regulate the power with the trigger. I don't know about other brands, but with Stihl you can get parts, services and repairs quite easy. I use it mainly for the gutters and driveway. For some quick & light work I've got a battery powered one as well but I prefer the power of the Stihl.

  • Budget and type of use would be handy

I have a makita 2 stroke blower cost about $240 which is good I also have a Husqvarna 570BT which is great for large areas costs about $1000

  • What are you using it for? I’ve got a cordless blower that works great for cleaning up after mowing, cleaning down the verandah and clearing out the garage. No cord, no Petrol. It isn’t super powerful but does what I need and is really convenient.

    • what blower do you have ?

  • TradeTools EB260 for $138. Bought a lightly used one a couple of years ago for $40 and have been very impressed. I place it amongst my best-ever buys.

  • i use a corded ozito blower ($20 sale at bunnings ) to clear dust out/grass trimmings off the drive way and pavements. Occasionally use it to wake my neighbours if they had a late party and kept me up at night - an eye for an eye, a good sleep for a good sleep…
