Where to Get Cheap PLA Cups?

Hi All,

First forum post so please dont hurt me.

I am looking at starting a smoothie business and want to use compostable/biodegradable cups.

PLA seems to be the material of choice and I've done plenty of googling to try and find the cheapest option.

Currently I think 4c per cup is the cheapest I could find with lids and straws being a separate expense.

I guess my questions is, does anyone know where I can get this stuff any cheaper or in lots less than 1000units per box for a same price.

Another option might be bundles that include white paper straws and or PLA lids but I haven't seen too much of that.

If you need to buy these in lots smaller than 1000 you won’t have a business for very long.

You're starting a business and you're worried about a 4c cup.

Say you sell 100 smoothies per day (thats 12 or so per hour over an 8 hour day) - this would = $4.00 is cup costs.

If you get the cups for 1c less per each you'll save $1 per day.

My advice would be to spend less time on the cups and more time on the thousands of other challenges you'll have in your new business.
