    I only own a old single piece joystick that hasn't been used it years, purchased from the old Harvey Norman store in Brisbane CBD. This game is an excuse to get it out of the box. I paid about $14 USD just for the game on sale 12 months ago. This bundle is a bargain; the game is online only cannot be pirated.

  Is there any other dlc or standalone game missing from elite dangerous franchise after buying this.

  Looking for the most complete bundle of edition to get the most value out of it.

      Thanks so looks life I will wait this one out a bit more and just play some other strategy games while I wait unless something soon in the series blows my mind.

      I love civilization but like the Sims to play it all costs a lot and you just end up sitting there wanting more with deep regret.

        The above is incorrect; the Deluxe kit includes the Horizon update making it a complete playing experience. A new major update was just released, and included some great new gameplay such as core mining. There's a vibrant AU community (EDAU) making it well worth getting into the game now.

        You can always get cosmetic updates to support dev and bling your ships but they have no bearing on gameplay.

        Sure at one point on time there's likely to be further expansions they need money to fund, but considering the release cycle that's going to be quite some time away.

    I picked this up a while ago and probably have a hundred or so hours in it with the rift now. Elite is very much a sandbox so you'll get bored very quickly if you don't set yourself some goals and there's a bit of a learning curve. If you can get around that, it's one of the better rift experiences out there especially if you go all in with a Hotas (a controller works fine too though). Flying through asteroid fields mining and getting into intense battles is amazing in the rift but if you don't enjoy it as it is then the rift won't make a difference. I'd say must have if you enjoy immersive sandbox experiences and aren't afraid of a bit motion sickness
