GPU for Dell Optiplex 9010 (Low End Not for Gaming)

Hi

Picked up this today with the 10% off deal:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DELL-FAST-OPTIPLEX-9010-INTEL-CO…

Not the best deal going around but not to bad, I am wanting to connect it to a HDMI 27inch monitor and am using the pc for basic office stuff as well as running a network panel for a game, basically the game panel is on the screen and just the buttons change so not that intense I imagine on graphics.

I have read alot about what card will work as this is SFF, but most cards that are recommended are an overkill for what I need, any suggestions on a card that would give me better graphics than the onboard graphics or should I not worry and just get a display port to HDMI adaptor?

A little kick to render the panel would be good

Cheers

  • If it's just a static rendering of a control panel and framerates are not an issue, I think Intel HD graphics should do it, if not look into a used low profile GT750 or a brand new GT1030.

  • Great thanks for that, appreciate it

  • +1

what res is your 27" ?

would be good to spare the 4gb ram from shared Vram and offload them onto discrete GC mem, unless you've more rams.

  • Intel hd for gtx 1050

  • Might be able to squeeze in a low profile GTX 1050 TI

  • Maybe I should have went the upgraded version lol being a tight ass as usual.

The monitor is 1920x1080 (Harvey Norman speciala month ago)

Don’t need anything to crazy as don’t want to invest to much in it

  • This is for your touchscreen/panel setup, I assume?

Stick with integrated graphics to start with. It'll handle two 1080p screens with Youtube just fine, so certainly not a problem with basic displays and touch panel inputs. Dual-screen Chrome windows is absolutely fine. If you are struggling with display issues etc, then you can always upgrade later.

I've got a 1050Ti in mine, which handles all games at 1080p 60fps without a problem. But that's an additional $150 you probably don't need to spend just yet.

I'm rather interested in your setup now! I'd love to see how you've got everything laid out!

  • Sure is, once I have it all setup I will post some pics. Also have two tablets running as well, things we do I guess lol
