    Great find OP.

Thanks so much, had a $10 coupon expiring today and had no clue what to get

    • I had a $10 coupon expiring today, did the same thing. Its a win

    • $10 coupon? Did I miss anything?

    • Same here! I'd forgotten about that, thanks for the reminder. I already have one, but another for under $6 for my wife is a steal!

    • I had $1 balance left on my JB gift card and almost forgot to use it. I put it towards postage as no local stores had stock left for click and collect.

The Flash Drive for USB Type-C Devices

    And Type-A devices too.
Hence the description Dual Drive USB

Wait it's not two hard disks?

      • I thought it was like those street cleaner trucks that you can drive from either side.

  • Can i use this for my RP2? for torrents basically. currently using the 32 sd card. would like to get this for download location

  • Only 4 stores in whole of Sydney have the 64GB available for Click-n-Collect

    Mt Druitt
    Parra
    Merrylands
    Hornsby

    • So sad, I just checked again now and it's gone from Hornsby.

I saw the deal as it was posted but was too lazy to do C&C from Chatswood Chase/Hornsby :(

What’s so good about a dual drive?

    • +2

can use in newer type c laptops and as OTG storage for phones

    • +3

I have a MacBook Pro at home with only USB-C, and my work machine only has USB-A.

      • same here, now I don't have to use an adapter

  • Been skimming some of the Amazon reviews and the Write speeds look pretty average.
Granted, it's hard to tell sometimes if this is the actual product or just user error.

  • I bought this last year and the USB-A connector stopped working. The USB C side still works.

    • Have it replaced under the 4-5 year warranty.

It's a great convenient drive - I have the 256GB version of this (very handy with a USB-C based laptop (but also other USB-A based laptops in the household))

Do note however that whilst the read speed on these is very good (I tested @ > 100MB/sec), the write speed is as slow as sh&^ (I tested @ < 20MB/sec - compared to say the Samsung EVO Plus/Select microSD and Sandisk ExtremePro SD cards I have which I've tested write at almost 80MB/sec)

  • I have this and it's very convenient!

    • Do you think there'll be no worries with a Samsung S8+, with a fairly minimal case on it? The back of it looks like it's quite bulky and I'm worried it won't fit with my case on.

      • To be honest, I don't use it as an OTG device, I have a MacBook Pro with Type C ports, and use it to transfer large files to the office which only has Type A on our devices.

    • If it's not in a local JB store they'll probably price match it including the JB delivery fee.

There don't seem to be any in SA, and the delivery fee is $4.99 for me.

      • just grabbed the last one at marion

      • Can technically price match the 32GB as theres still store stock available for click and collect, no? Would have to be quick though to save the $20.

  • ah finally i can use $10 coupon

  • +7

Finally a decent price … need this !!! One computer with only USB-C the other one on USB-A. This will help! Thanks!

Also the 32GB and 16GB version are on sale … rather have a few lying around …

    16GB: $8.20 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/sandisk/sandisk-ultra-dual-drive-u…
    32GB: $9.77 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/sandisk/sandisk-ultra-dual-drive-u…

    • Thanks. Grabbed a 32gb since no C&C for 64gb here.

    • Thanks for this! Was frustrated as the 64GB went out of stock in all WA stores as I was checking out. Grabbed a 32GB instead.

    • Thanks, got 2 of the 32GBs for the wife and I since 64GB is gone from SA. Being able to transfer between every device including phones is nice.

  • Very convenient. Paid $18 for 32GB a few months ago

  • D'oh used my $10 coupon yesterday on a 16 GB USB3 drive… :'( should've waited (haven't picked up yet..)

  • Edit, was looking at the wrong capacity, better price here

  • Thanks OP!

  • No longer available :(

Sold out ? All links dead

    • Yup, looks like theyre all taken down. They must feel like they sold enough haha.

    • Might have been pricing error. Some of the products are back again but with different links and prices.

  • Cheers OP. Managed to get one just in the nick of time!

  • +1

It was definitely pricing error. I bought two 64Gb one from Brisbane CBD but staff told me that it was pricing error but manager still sold me these :)

  • Damn. I was going to buy one of these on the weekend.

I do a lot of filming at the gym and my phone is always full (no expandable storage).

    Shame I missed it.

  • On counter manager told me that it must had been a pricing error as it was coming as 54 on his system, so he denied to give me on this price :(

  • Got a 32GB and now using it in my 2014 MacMini as the boot drive. So much faster now, would recommend! Much cheaper than a SSD.

  • I had about 5 employees at my local trying to figure out why the website price was so much cheaper then what it was scanning up on their system..
Happy to say they granted the website price, but looks like its been pulled down on their website in the mean time.

Just received an email saying they won't honour the price. Pretty disappointing from a large company like JB.

    • Same, just came through now, very disappointed

    • Did not get anything yet … but the order is set to status "shipped" in the system.

  • Stitch up. Price error.

  • Sucks!

Just got this e-mail from JB HiFi - it seems like they really aren't interested in selling stuff. I always find them to be the most difficult retailer when asking for discounts or a price-match!

"Thanks for ordering “SANDISK - 64GB DUAL DRIVE USBC & USB 3.0” through JB Hi-Fi Online.

I’m afraid there has been a pricing error with this product and your order has been incorrectly charged.

Unfortunately, as a result of this pricing error, and in accordance with our website’s terms of sale Section 7 (c) we have cancelled this item from your online order.

      +1.
I have sent the following email….

"I find this situation and your response unacceptable.

I am well aware that this price was honoured instore at the time of my order. I called my local store, and they confirmed they had them in stock, but that an online order would be fine also.

Secondly, I appreciate you sending the link relevant to your process here in your terms and conditions, but I’m sceptical that these terms are in accordance with Australian consumer law. On a consumer level, it seems to be directly in breech of common consumer conditions in regards to advertised price conditions, and bait and switch scam regulations.

Finally - and this is completely your call - but no offer of compensation for the effort and inconvenience caused, or the time which you are holding purchasers funds - is incredibly poor customer service.

I look forward to your response."

      • -1

        Perfect response!
I sent them an unhappy email but not as good as yours.

      • -2

Bait and switch?! It's an obvious price error, which they are well covered by under ACL.

Sorry but people need to get over it when they miss out on opportunities to abuse pricing errors instead of acting self-entitled.

    walked in store, got 2

The guy scanned for $15, got confused, checked the website, sold it :)

  • +2

Got the price error email as well. Sucks

  • I got mine delivered today :-).

  • I'm probably extremely unlucky with JBHi Fi paid by gift card but they not able to issue gift card back due to the human error. Ridiculous excuse this is one of worsest big retails in Australia.

    • Are you saying they won't refund you for an item you paid for but for which they cancelled the order? That's clearly not legal.

Or do you just mean that they won't refund via gift card but will refund some other way?
