Don't buy from Joybuy.com

I bought the 'European slim fit suits' recently. When they arrived, they were way too small, poorly designed and of very poor quality.
Since I received the suits, I have been in contact with the returns department and they have advised me that I can get s $12 coupon in return.
Please be very careful purchasing anything from this company, unless you are willing to accept poor quality materials.

    Oh

I bought the 'European slim fit suits'

    Well there is your problem…..

yeahh nah i'm still gonna buy from joybuy lmao.

I don't think you're justified in blaming the site entirely. You took the risk to buy clothes that you hadn't tried on or seen before from, most likely at a discounted price, from a non-reputable clothing website (ie compared to Asos, etc). It shouldn't be that much of a surprise that they're not of very high quality, or of a standard that you're expecting.

Was this the "European Slim Business Casual Suits Two-Piece AU $26.50 Delivered @ Joybuy"?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/431205
What sort of suit did you expect for $26.50 inc delivery?
I would guess that the seller knew these were virtually useles and therefore the low price?

  • I bought few and extremely happy with them. People, please keep buying! End of story.

  • At that price for a whole suit I am honestly surprised it wasn't to scale on my computer monitor and suitable only for dolls…

I think the more important take away is don't buy suspiciously cheap clothing from China stores which aren't compelled to comply with the ACL.

    • Even the ACL wouldn't help OP here. He bought clothes which were the wrong size and fit.

      • How was OP to know this?

        • -1

OP didn't - but he bought knowing that he didn't know its exact size and fit.

          • @HighAndDry: ACL would help if the measurements don't match the ones listed on the listing (I'm assuming OP did their due diligence) but yes, if you buy clothes which are L because you are usually a L and they don't fit you that's just your fault.

            • @OrderInWrongWordsThe:

I'm assuming OP did their due diligence

OP bought a two piece suit for $26. That in itself already tells me they didn't do a jot of due diligence because literally any amount of due diligence would have screamed: "don't buy a two piece suit for $26".

But you're right - if the clothes don't match the listed measurements, if they had any, OP might not be completely to blame here.

    Duly noted.

Don't buy Asian clothing, it's always smaller than you think it will be. Even if you buy 2 sizes too big.

    • +1

      Maybe he/she is Asian.

  • +3

    Maybe you gained weight?

    • +4

OP paid $26 for a two piece suit… I don't think they can afford enough food to gain any weight….

      • +1

Or a weighing scale to verify said weight.

Yeah, no hassles here and they have some awesome prices sometimes, way below what AU regularly pays for brand name items like Samsung/Sandisk memory cards and SSDs.

Their customer service has been responsive for me as far as chasing orders where tracking has stopped - they gave me an international tracking number (or something?) so I could see where it was.

You get what you pay for, especially in a Chinese ebay type of store. Expect the same quality (especially in clothing) and customer service with another other similar store.

  • So what size upgrade do you recommend. Is it an American slim fit or a Cambodian slim fit

  • There are plenty of other sites that offer 'bargains' that have been rated by the community.

China is still the land of plenty, but if you are willing to pay decent money you'll get an extremely good product. Spend pennies and you'll get just that.

That being said, decent clothing is hella expensive in China

    • -1

Buying famous Western brands in China is hella expensive. Buying actually decent clothes is cheap as chips, because the biggest cost in clothing is labour. It's why basically all the big labels have their clothing workshops in China to begin with.

      • That's funny… because all my suppliers want an arm and a leg. Hence why apart from a very select few I don't tend to import clothes

        • Maybe importation costs? I know a lot of friends who go back especially to get tailored clothes - suits, shirts, etc.

          • @HighAndDry: Clothes for myself in regards to freight expenses are the cheapest I can get. It's the suppliers that want alot! Probably because I am dealing with factories in small quantities. Often cheaper for myself to go to Kmart sadly…

  • I have been in contact with the returns department and they have advised me that I can get s $12 coupon in return.

So what you bought was $12? Any decent cheap suit will always cost around $250-300 purely for half decent quality materials alone, let alone the workmanship.

  • This is generally what happens when you buy clothes online.

  • A real ozbargainer would lose weight for free to fit the suit.

    Get shredding OP.

  • regift the suit to someone it will fit. You've bought a lovely gift for someone who is not your dimensions

  • joybuy rock

  • Don't tell me what to do, ive bought multiple things from them before and you not choosing the correct size isn't a reason for you to slander there image online and tell people not to buy from them.

  • Moderators need to review this. New poster slandering site without reasonable justification.

  • Purchased a 400gb Micro SD from them in late November…. didn't leave China till Mid January, lost in the mail.

Had to explain to them their website said 60 days = refund…. took ages.

Not bad for a first (and last) order.

  • You had fitment issues with a $26.50 suit from China? Outrageous!
