Cheapest id.au Domain Renewal

What's the cheapest price for an id.au renewal currently? I've got one with Zuver expiring soon and from searching around this arvo it actually looks they're the cheapest - $10.50/yr for 5 yrs.

  • That's really good, and I think I'll switch over to them when it's time to renew mine… cheers!

    • FYI, you don't need to wait for renewal time to transfer a domain. When you transfer a domain name to a different registrar, the expiry date gets transferred as well.

      • Yeah I think you're allowed to transfer any au domain to another registrar for free, except when it's within 90 days of expiring - in this case you must pay a renewal fee when transferring.

Yeah it's the best single year pricing in the market from my understanding last time I did the rounds.

      Correct.

When you transfer a domain name to a different registrar, the expiry date gets transferred as well.

Correct, however other extensions non-.au like a .com for example require a purchase of an additional year of registration during the transfer process where .au will not require this in less certain circumstances have occurred.

      Correct.

That number is actually lower the 90 day number is actually how many days have to be left on the domain name in the .au space before you can do a renewal.

So remember if you want to do a five year renewal you need to do it with in that 90 days you can't do a one year renewal and decide 6 months later to add additional years in the .au name space at the moment.

  • Yeah wow I've been paying $24.95 for 2 years… ripped off! Thought it was standard/gov pricing… silly me.

That's not too bad for two years. The price the OP has quoted is yearly which is now allowed in the .au name space. You are nowhere close to being getting ripped off trust me on that one.

  • thanks, just transferred from net registry $19 / year - yikes.

    • Yeah Net Registry is not a good company to keep your domain names with any more it's owned by Melbourne IT.

  • +1

It's showing me $10.50 per year not for 5 years.

    • Correct Zuver pricing is $10.50 per year for a maximum of up to 5 years each year $10.50 so 5 years would be $52.50.

      OP

      $10.50/yr for 5 yrs.

      "$10.50/yr" indicates yearly cost.

"for 5 yrs." Indicates how many years you can register for.

Oops, missed to see the “/yr”

        • Some of the best pricing you can get anywhere with a good reliable company.

One thing to keep in mind is you can't add additional years until it's within 90 days of expiry. So if you want to do five years you need to do it during the eligibility period for renewal or you won't be able to do it into the next 90 days renewal period.
