Hey folks, just saw this. Apologies for the error, and affected orders have been contacted. My bad… Can I still blame having a newborn in the house 3 weeks later?

  • site seems to be getting hammered

  • +9

And based on the URL it might be for a 1060 instead of a 2070. Low chance of it actually going through.

  • Anyone else getting a database error when trying to load the site?

    • Yes

Okay, must have been ozbargained. :(

    • Yup…

  • +2

That price is for the card alone, yet you are getting a whole i5 build

  • In the market for a new desktop but I'm getting the impression that going to the nearest MSY (25 mins away for me) and buying components at their regular prices would be the cheapest way and most hassle-free way to go (I have assembled my own computers before)?

    • +3

Sometimes all these bundlea is cheaper than picking the same parts but of course building your own pc you can make a most beastly machine.

    • +2

If you know how to assemble the computer then its definitely the best way to go. I'm going to do a new build next year so always keep an eye out in case there is a great discount on a part I will want.

    • +1

It's the best way to get the exact parts you want. Bundled deals could pick an average motherboard or standard RAM. MSY do allow you to pick all the parts and they assemble for you (you need to pay a fee for them to assemble the computer for you in that case).

Due to impulsive purchases, I often already have SSD(s) and/or RAM modules already. So, another way to go about it is to buy those parts when they are cheap and when the time comes, get the M/B, CPU and any other missing parts.

MSY prices are decent, but they cannot beat feeBay 20% off voucher type discounts, Amazon or NewEgg specials. But, if you must get a PC now, the yeah MSY is a good choice.

I've always built my own comps (25+years) and it's generally cheaper to build yourself. However the company in this advert, Techfast, often have cheap decent builds.

Couple weeks ago bought (with ebay 20%off deal) a 2070rtx, ryzen 2600 build (those two together are ~$1060) for $1200. It only came with 8gb ram, and cheap mobo, case and 120gb ssd, and cheap psu, but to replace those components to something worthwhile would only be a few hundred. Although what ships will be enough to play anygame out at fullspec over 60fps @ 1080p res. Most games will be playable at 4k res, though not at full spec visually.

So with new amd chips coming this year, i'll upgrade to one of their new bits of gear then, and have a sweet gaming spec pc that'll last years.

  • Ill be surprised if anyone actually manages to get it at this price. Can anyone confirm a successful order?

…. who'll complain about the refund process.

Best to call them and confirm this deal is not a pricing error. Better safe than sorry (or feel disappointed / angry) later on.
You know it is too good to be true: i5 8400 + 8GB RAM + RTX 2700 for $799. And, the code: OzB1060Deals. I can understand why a retailer would want to clear their GTX 1060 stock, but selling RTX 2700 below cost just doesn't add up.

Last I heard, alot of people here that ordered in December hadn't received their machines, i'm getting very sus on this company, has ANYONE actually received a machine from them?

      • +1

Waiting times are ridiculous but I haven't heard of anyone who hasn't received their PC eventually. If you pay by PayPal or credit card, you are at no risk of losing your money. The question is whether you trade extra savings for long wait.

        • +2

2-3 month wait on delivery? Then making a claim to Visa for another 2 month turnaround for a 4 month total wait on my funds back, I call that a risk. Theres a limit to how long i'll wait and honestly thats really too long.

          • +1

@sk3iron: I haven't heard of anyone waiting longer than 1.5 months. I got mine in 22 days during the Xmas/ozbargain rush

      • +2

I ordered 2 systems in December one on the 19th one on the 24. First system that was an i3 8100/GTX 1060 arrived about the 24 of January. The other the Ryzen 2600/RTX 2080 system arrived this week. The rep on here @luketechfast was really helpful with any questions, replied same day, even went out of his way on the long weekend too answer some questions.

Whilst there were delays with my systems, they communicated well, explained what was delaying the order, and kept me updated.

The rep on here really had some of the best customer service I've received from any tech company.

      • Yes plenty of people got their PCs although wait times can be long.

@Themaveriq whilst I appreciate they were communicative, tech prices change weekly, let alone monthly, I wouldn't want to pay December prices for a system that didn't arrive until this week.

          • @sk3iron: Hey, I completely agree, although When I purchased the entire 2600/RTX 2080 system it was with the eBay 20% off. Meaning I paid only about $150ish more for the whole system than the model of RTX 2080 I received still costs now. So the waiting in my case has had no effect of the excellent value the system provided.

Received my 2200G with 570 yesterday. Ordered on the 15th Jan. Very happy.

  • Just looked on their eBay site, and they have this computer, without the graphics card for 799. It uses the integrated Intel graphics. Everything else is the same though.

There delivery is slow, still waiting for my PC since before last christmas deal. still no sign of it delivering anytime soon.

    • eBay support, once you file it it comes pretty quick

    • Legit just using your cash to buy more stock and not delivering.. bs i say.

    • +2

I'll look into it for you because there are now no Pre Christmas orders left as far as I'm aware. Can you PM me?

  • +3

My order was just placed, has been received and is now being processed. I'll see how it goes.

boldEDIT: Got an email offering refund or to pay the difference - GPU price wasn't included in the total cost. Refund has been processed already and 5% coupon offered as an apology.

  • +3

Techfast does have legit deals even though this was a pricing error.

As others have mentioned, delivery may take longer than expected. I order a prebuilt system over Christmas and it took around 1 & half months to get delivered.

    However, value is unbeatable. I paid $1300 for a 2080, R5 2600 system.

Parts are a bit of a lottery as they just use whatever they have in stock and there is no way to determine or pick and choose your desired brands.

I got really lucky with the part lottery and got a MSI 2080 Gaming X Trio and a Thermaltake PSU.

Just sharing my experience but as usual, YMMV.

    • Yeah that is a huge win. Excellent value.

Even in one years time that system will still have held its value and be a bargain at that price.

      Nice work man.
