I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this one and there's one sold as cheap as $39 however i was made aware to ensure that I'm getting the latest model.

I would be interested to know what the difference is, I mean it is just a couple of plastic tubes with a seal.
I have had mine for 10+ years and still going strong
There's a good rundown of all seven model iterations here, showing the plastic colour and lettering format for each generation. The major changes largely break down to material choice (BPA-containing polycarbonate to begin with, then copolyester, followed by polypropylene) and the removal of an unnecessary structural rib from earlier versions (not reflected on that page, but elsewhere on same site).
