Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub Connection Problem Using Ethernet

Recently connected to Vodafone NBN HFC. The Vodafone wifi hub works OK when stand alone as wifi router. Internet drops out repeatedly after one or two minutes when connected via ethernet to my desktop running windows 10. It appears the router tried to reset itself, connected, then broke again. Tried lan port 2, different ethernet cables, a second USB Lan connector, reinstalled network card drivers, network reset etc. but no success. The router works OK when connected to my laptop running windows 10 via ethernet. This rules out a faulty router and have to do some setting in the desktop.

Have anyone has similar experience and found any fix. Vodafone tech support was not very helpful in this.

Have you considered adding a wifi usb adaptor to your desktop and using that to connect to the modem?

  • Yes. But I would still prefer to use an ethernet cable.

  • I have this same issue. Unsure of the trigger or fix yet. Haven't got NBN installed yet, have been running off the 4g backup exclusively.

  • The problem seemed to be resolved once NBN is connected. I had been using for a month now without issue.

  • I just got my Wifi Hub today, NBN will be connected next week.
I have only connected my iMac via ethernet cable, the hub reboots every 10-20 minutes. Very annoying. I hope it works well when NBN is up and running…

    • It should be fine after NBN is connected. I do not have any problem so far.

      • Thanks for the reply. I was on the phone with Vodafone yesterday and they asked me to reset the Hub. It’s better now, I’ll see how it goes…
