I bought a T5 500GB for around $200+ a while back, now the 2TB at $529 which is $100 OFF RRP. Seems that the RRP has recently gone down also which is a great thing for these kind of drives.

$502.55 + $9 shipping on their eBay store using the code "Push5"
    A bit cheaper :^)
Note: Excludes WA Regional, WA Remote, PO Box

    • Nice one! At least its still Aussie stock that cheap!

  • Are these just an 850 in a cage or what?

    • Smaller

    • Could be they do have a SSD like slot inside, all I know is when I copy files over to mine it is incredibly and amazingly fast compared to any other external device or even a SATA SSD device.

      • SATA runs at 6Gbps though. This drive runs at 4.32Gbps. The reason your SATA SSDs are slow are because you're using a 3Gbps port by the sound of it.

        My experience matches this.

USB 3 UASP enclosures + internal SSD are very hit and miss. After three different SSDs and three different enclosures I do not have a combo that works everywhere. And they're slow as shit usually.

Samsung T5 just works fast all the time. Presumably this is down to controller so maybe expensive enclosures compare better but then you're paying T5 prices so what's the point …

  • Or T3 for ~$440 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/436801
No idea what differences in speed or whatever
