Good Value Essential Oils Brand

Anyone have a suggestion for a good value range of essential oils?

Asking for my wife's friend. The friend used to use SunSpirit (maybe 25 years ago) and was happy with that. SunSpirit then got bought out and gutted by Thursday Plantation, and so she tried sticking with them for a while but wasn't convinced so tried the Natio range. Natio felt like a better quality oil but is significantly more expensive.

Thursday plantation essential oils are no longer stocked by her local health food shop and hasn't really been replaced with anything, so I said I'd have a look online and, well, no-one knows value-for-money better than Ozbargainers. So yeah, which 100% pure essential oil brands are you using these days?

  • Is she trying to beat cancer with essential oils? /s

  • What exactly is she using the oils for?

    • Making soaps, cleaning, relaxing (oil burner), etc. She made a car carpet cleaning solution for me one time that worked surprisingly well. And she suggested my wife get some clove oil one time for her toothache.

      • you had me at fragrant soaps, cleaning and relaxation…. but lost me at the toothache thing sorry.

Anyway do you live in western suburbs of Melbourne? There's a brand called Botany. their manufacturing warehouse is in Braybrook and you can buy their oils there at a much better price than whats on their website.

lol it's an old remedy but apparently it works. I think Colgate even make a clove oil product.

I'm not in Melbourne but thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look online anyway.

@jlev: Wow not sure why all the negs, maybe everyone got dumb over the last few hours? Clove oil is a well known remedy for toothache. I wouldn't use it as a permanent solution but if you can't get to a dentist it will slow up the pain until you can. And for killing mold around the house I haven't found anything that does a better job.

You can't get much more establishment than Colgate….

Thursday plantation essential oils are no longer stocked by her local health food shop

Don't sound so essential if they aren't even stocked anymore…

All my basic oils and some blends are either Now brand which I purchase from iHerb:

    https://au.iherb.com/c/Aromatherapy-Essential-Oils?bids=NOW

or from In Essence which are much more expensive.

    • Thank you!

  • bought mine from plant theraphy, US site but have free shipping to AU if order over $75 or something. or can buy via iherb.

    there is cashback with topcashback

bought mainly germ fighter and respir aid for the kids, so far they rarely catch any cold or cough.

    • Thanks, will check these out though knowing her she might prefer to buy online-locally.

  • Is this for use in an aroma diffuser?

    • I'm not sure TBH. I had assumed she uses one of those oil burners that you put a bit of water in and a tea light candle underneath but I'm not sure how the technology has changed since I was in high school.

If you're after good value, I think kmart could be a good candidate.

They sell 10ml bottles for 3$ and they're sort of accessible if you live in a major capital city.

    • Thanks. I think the ones at Kmart are "fragrant oils" as opposed to true essential oils but will check it out next time I'm there.
