Best Gaming Mouse for $99 in 2019

Hi guys. My old Kone XTD Roccat mouse. with RGB. Any idea what I should now replace it with. The scoll button now doesn't work on it properly.

After a wired mouse with RGB if possible and from JHBI as have vouchers.

Suggestions so far that sound good - Logitech G502 Hero 16k dpi
or G102 8k dpi
Swinging still to the G502 Hero if I can get at right price point.

  • I have this mouse and it's pretty rad, bought from msy few months back

    • Does it have a noisy click? After one that doesn't really make to much noise to disturb others in the house.

      • I don't think it's too loud, I just tried it when you asked and it seemed satisfying to me in noise. So you get a click but its doesn't grate on your ears. YMMV obv

  • Consider a zowie mouse. They come in all shapes and sizes (pretty much the selling point of their mice) so you can buy one that perfectly fits your hand. They are a bit costly, but should still fit under your budget. Most of them don't have a gaming sci-fi design with 10x RGB led lights though so if you like that sort of thing then you will be disappointed.

    • What makes these better then others. Went on website, but a bit hard to tell which one would work best without actually trying it. The other issue I have is I have JBHI vouchers so really want to use that for this mouse if possible.

  • You know how use a soldering iron/access to one? Just fix it yourself.

    • Yeah that was the other option to try and pull it apart and try and fix it. Suspect the button itself is now worn. So assume it wouldn't be an easy fix.

      • I had a razer deathadder with double click issue. Ordered the higher quality Japanese omron switches on the net for 5 bucks(razer uses the cheap Chinese ones). Replaced both in 5 minutes and now it is better than before. Considering they jacked the price up on these by a lot in the last few years. You just need a soldering iron because they are soldered to the pcb.

    • I love this mouse so much, its cheap but looks nice and I love the way it works, have the buttons set up just right. Even has its own reddit sub https://www.reddit.com/r/G502MasterRace/

Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB Gaming Mouse . There this one, but whats the difference to that and Hero. Similar price.

G502 hero has a new sensor (can go up to 16000 DPI), better cable and better scroll wheel.

They may be more, but that's all I know. I have a G502 Proteus Spectrum, still a great mouse!

  • Now days with Sensors as good as they are they are not the factor that determines the better mouse.
    More about weight and shape.

My recommendation would be to buy a G102 from ebay for $37 It's weight it very good at 85g the standard cable is pretty good too.

My second recommendation is just the wireless version of this is the G304 for about $79.99 on ebay as well.

  • Consider going wireless, its makes a huge difference, g703 or g900 for top dollar, they are fantastic mouses and wireless just makes it so much more convenient, although charging sucks, but they last a week without rgb 6 hours usage a day.
