Booking.com Refusing to Price Match - Who Do I Escalate to?

I booked accomodation through booking.com at Sea World, and Booking.com are refusing to price match the recent deals released by Sea World themselves. I have already paid in full.

The reasoning I'm being give is that one room has floor boards and a rug, and the other room has carpet.

I believe my request meets the terms and conditions.

Is there are governing body or ombudsman for this type of thing I can escalate my claim too.

Has anyone had a similar experience and succeeded?

The reasoning I'm being give is that one room has floor boards and a rug, and the other room has carpet.

Are they advertised as the same room type?

Edit: Just read these conditions. Seems Booking.com excludes "special promotion or deals". Unsure what their definition of that may be however.

  • My booking description is stated as:

"Resort Room + Entry to 3 Theme Parks'. Further details states "2 double beds"

The Room types on the website are here: https://seaworld.com.au/resort/rooms

I selected the "resort room" for my booking dates, for double beds, with their current promotion. I screen shotted my this showing it was available on my booked dates

It was $200 cheaper, and included buffet breakfast.

They refuse to match it. Now they are saying the "resort rooms" aren't on the seaworld website and they are rooms only available on booking.com. Sea World website clearly shows "Resort Rooms".

just cancel it, and book with sea world if ppossible

booking.com hasn't honoured a single reward they promoted to me, so i just use expedia again.

    • I've received $US40, $AU60 and $AU30 cashbacks from booking.com. Also, as a Genius member, they take around 10% off most rooms which gives the equivalent prices of most other sites using a 10% off coupon. I don't have any particular loyalty to them - I use whichever site is cheapest - but they've been pretty good in my experience.

      • yeh none of them worked for me, asked about it, didnt get shit back.

i book a lot of rooms too, so their loss.'

    • Unfortunately I’ve paid in full and they’ll keep my full payment on cancellation. Otherwise I definitely would of cancelled and booked directly with Sea World.

That could be enough of difference. As with all these price-matching offers, companies would always look for the smallest thing to get out of price-matching.

  • So you signed up to a non refundable booking and now you want a refund?

No. I don’t want a refund at all. I just want them to honour their advertised “price match guarantee”.
