I'm looking for a new receiver (no blu ray combo kits) and speakers. Any recommendations? Budget is about $800-$900 including delivery.

Had Yamaha in the past… will use again..
I was looking at the Yamaha RXV667 - received some pretty decent reviews, but then decided I didn't really need a new receiver and put my money elsewhere.
I got the price down to $699 straight up at a hifi specialist in Sydney - I think RRP is $1199?
The other thing is that this is generally the time where new home entertainment gear starts rolling out, although generally the lower-end stuff comes out first with the top end stuff sometimes up to 4-5 months later. So watch out for those clearances (especially the high end stuff - their prices drop like a fat kid on cake) and just make sure there aren't any sweet buys in the 2011 line-up. And with clearance prices, haggle it down - usually for recent clearance items, you can haggle the new model down to the clearance price anyway.
