Bankwest More Credit Card with Lounge access

hi wise people, I'm considering getting the Bankwest More Mastercard which includes unlimited lounge access via Loungekey. Have any of you had experience using this card to access lounges? Is loungekey as good as Prioritypass? From their website search, in some of the airports, the lounges seem exactly the same as what you could access with prioritypass. Is a guest allowed in for free too? The wording around this on their website seems a bit vagues (it says it allows guests, but doesnt specify if they need to pay.). Thanks

Can't comment on this LoungeKey stuff specifically, but generally the CC lounge access isn't that good unless you get something like the AMEX Charge Card. That said, had a quick look and you can get food credit at Sydney airport (That's how they quantify their 'lounges'), which isn't too bad if you're there for a while. Prioritypass is probably better, however look at the other benefits of the card it might be worthwhile (although the Bankwest Zero card is hard to beat for VFM haha).

  • Have had a BW More Mastercard for a long time.
Used to have lounge access with Priority Pass through BW - updated to LoungeKey a few years ago
Much the same - minor differences
I think the World MC gives you unlimited access - not sure about the Platinum

    • What are the minor differences if you don't mind me asking? Also does it let you take along a guest for free?

LoungeKey and Priority Pass have access to most of the same lounges but I have had more access using Loungkey in ICN and YVR but less access with it in LAX.
My previous Priority Pass - there was a limitation to the number of people you can take in. With the Loungekey access through my world card, it is unlimited.

  • Thanks folks.

  • I use this card extensively. Only a slight difference compared to Priority Pass. But well worth it for the annual fee you pay compared to other cards that offer unlimited Priority pass with unlimited guests.

Used to have the AMEX charge card but gave up with the last AF hike. value addition AMEX has over Priority Pass is mostly only when you're in the US, (and also flying delta) There's only a handful of Centurion lounges and they are not that great IMHO (I've not been to all of them).

    • Thanks. So, does this card let you take along a guest for free? One guest or more than that? On their website they say "Indulge before your flight with complimentary refreshments for you and your guests in more than 850 lounges worldwide". Not quite sure if that means you could say take along 3 guests for free. (allowing multiple guests seems suspiciously generous)

The number of guests you can take depends on the lounge. I've been to one where you could take 6 (Lotus lounge - CMB, unfortunately, they only offer PP now, no lounge key)
Seems all let you take 2 at least.

With the dining programme, I could only get a max of $72 no matter the number of guests.

Also when I'm travelling alone, and at an airport restaurant with the dining programme, I mostly buy a free drink for the person behind me in the queue.

        • Thanks :)

  • I've been enjoying the unlimited LoungeKey access on my Bankwest More World Mastercard for a few years now.

But in the April statement I just received, there is a note saying: "From 22 May 2019, there is a limit of 10 LoungeKey passes per calendar year for each More Rewards Card Account."

So it is changing from unlimited access to just 10 per year?

Anyone else get the same notice?

    • @derek14 Got the same - rang them, double checked!

Sucks now but at least we have 10 - better than 2

      • Am aware this is an old post - but if you're like me and you only had this card for lounge access, you're effectively paying $27/person per access. This is still cheaper than what you'd pay to the lounge itself, but I only wanted the lounge for free so I cancelled the card as soon as they changed it to this.

In all honesty though, it didn't feel sustainable. Them offering unlimited LoungeKey was a ridiculously good perk that I imagine only cost them money. I absolutely loved it while it lasted though - was an amazing card for lounge access alone.
