You get a car, you get a car, you get a car….. We all get a car!!!

I've never entered one of these, does giving them your email automatically subscribe you to their spam advertising?

Edit, just saw the box you can check to opt out of the spam, I'm guessing it's the same with all of them.

    • They still pass your details on to other companies. I've unchecked it for quite a few comps but still get all kinds of spam email and calls. Maybe better to have a separate email to enter these kinds of comps.

May be?? Everyone should have a disposable email domain in this day and age. It's free and essential. eg 33mail

Tried entering, but the "Postcode/Suburb" box wouldn't accept my postcode or suburb. In fact, it wouldn't accept ANY postcode or suburb. So, I couldn't enter. Anyone else find this?

    • +2

As you enter a postcode, recommendations should come up as a drop down list. Pick one.

Maybe an ad blocker or web browser? Fine for me with desktop Chrome.

  • I want that carrrr

Thanks for the comp. So does this come with the skyactive X?

    • Only the traditional engines will be available at launch. SKYACTIV-X to be available some months down the line.

Man, I've entered so many of these 'win a car' ones… gotta win one someday. Hopefully it's months later and a total surprise if I do win, what a feeling that would be.

Thanks, if I win will be a good trade in for a Subaru XV

  • Zoom zoom….

  • How is a Mazda3 worth $40,000 when they are trying to sell their BT-50 4x4 dual cab XT for $38,990 and even struggling at that price? They make a good car, but IMO their pricing is a way off what most consumers can and are willing to pay for their products.

Yes the 6 diesel sells for 40K AUD in Europe

Top of the line, it's a better car than a base model Audi or BMW of similar proportions, you can even get a fast one, and in a manual. I think 40k is not too bad of a price for that. Lots of safety tech too, and they look good.

Heaps more value than a BT-50 unless you go offroading.

Are you serious?? The BT-50 has a 5-cylinder diesel, a 4WD system (transfer case, more components etc.) and a 1 tonne payload… it's basically a commercial vehicle and logic would say it should sell for more.

Mazda3 is in the same class as the Toyota Corolla, which in top grade non-hybrid is $10,000 less. Needless to say, more Corollas sold in recent times, and Mazda sales are down more than Toyota and most other manufacturers.

Even if you think it is value (I'd rather go Euro such as Merc A180 at the 40k point) - their old top of line Mazda3 used to be mid-30's and given wage growth hasn't really happened yet and their sales are slow, Mazda should probably be looking around the same sale price for the style-updated vehicle.

Mazda generally make a decent vehicle, but all vehicles in that small/compact class suffer badly at resale, regardless of make. No way I'd be spending in the $40's or even the $30's in buying one - but each to their own.
