    does it come with fleas?

i don't know about everyone else, but i'm forever trying to get pet hair off my clothes!

  • +5

    What on earth.

    • +4

Really! I am with you on this one. I had to reread it twice to make sure I understood it correctly. Both times, I was fighting not vomiting. No exaggeration! I love our dog. In fact, my partner wishes I were as empathetic toward people in the way I am with animals. In a word, GROSS.

  • +3

And if you get accosted by some horny dogs in a park, you'll know why. :)

    • So they are trying to tell you that they want a fluffy coat?

    • +5

      watch out for those furries…

  • How much is SHIPPING ?

    • FREE for the samples.

  • +3

Pubic hair hat for someone that's not liked..

    • +1

I suppose you could always send them pubic hairs, if you like, I guess.

They say it's as easy as 1) Brush it 2) Send it 3) Receive it

      • +1

Mmm.. brushing your dogs pubic region. i'm sure he'll be very happy with you

        • +2

Or shave your own. How would they know.

        • +1

or get a group of mates together…

        • +2

I think I've seen that video on the net:

          Two Dogs, One Coat

  • I am sorry, this is the first neg I will give based on how strange n crazy this is.

    • That's not a particularly good reason to neg. This may be crazy, but maybe someone out there actually takes this offer up! Especially since it's free and all.

Of course, I am safely staying away from this one. :P

      • Yeah…idn it morally seems wrong on some level. Same as when people get their animals stuffed. Like ok… they are a part of your family, but you wouldn't subject other family members to this, if your pet has no voice in the matter, how can you decide this craziness for them.

On the other hand if there was some scientific reason or sustainable reasoning behind this. I would be less narrow minded.

        • +2

          You are doing something wrong.

At the Checkout, select "Australia" first and then all our States drop-down, including "NEW SOUTH WALES", "VICTORIA", etc..

          Worked for me.

        • +2

Morally wrong to spin fur from an animal? What planet do you live on?

    • So, why not let any (other) lateral thinkers among us get creative, eg:

      Send them their sweetheart's hair… for embedding…

Some would call the Romantic… :-)

  • its actually interesting, looking at the pictures the yarn that is made looks pretty "normal"

At the end of the day people wear fur/wool etc which is animal products

  • +1

Ok, crazy as it seems, I went to the site so I could be better informed and before I went off half-cocked with my vote. From what I can tell, it is strictly USA based. I could not enter, a fake, address for OZ because Australia states were not in the dropdown list for STATE. I must be missing something.

Anyway, I give this a neg. vote because I cannot see the "value" or “quality” in this product. If you read my above comment, you will know where I stand with regard to pets or animals for that matter. Great, it is free. As many people have already pointed out, animals inherently shed and humans inherently pickup said shed hair. How much more free can it get? It cannot get freer than that value wise. Additionally, with this “deal”, you have to put forth the effort into locating an OZ applicable address for this company. Once you have done that, you have to fill out the form, and as they say where I come from, “time is money”. This in in no way, a value. Truthfully, I am at a loss as to how you would even begin to rate the “quality” of this “product”. I will go so far as to say that, at this point in time, this has to be a joke posting. However, that is my not so humble opinion. NEG.

This is a legitimate posting. Stop being so narrow-minded. Do you drink Milk, eat Eggs, or wear Leather shoes? I don't.

And no-one is skinning a dog. We're picking up their shed hair, and sending it to them. The best example of environmental-conscious dress I know of - nobody gets killed for their hide, and no petrol is used to make Nylon!

      • Hmm, where to start with your attack on my comment.

This is a legitimate posting. Stop being so narrow-minded. Do you drink Milk, eat Eggs, or wear Leather shoes? I don't.And no-one is skinning a dog. We're picking up their shed hair, and sending it to them. The best example of environmental-conscious dress I know of - nobody gets killed for their hide, and no petrol is used to make Nylon!

Firstly, I am not a member of PETA. In fact, I am not certain why you would make such a comment. There was nothing in my postings to indicate otherwise.
Secondly, since I indicated I made an actual attempt to check this deal out (mind you, in the spirit of FAIRNESS and being OPENMINDED) of which you so "delightfully" point out,

You are doing something wrong. At the Checkout, select "Australia" first and then all our States drop-down, including "NEW SOUTH WALES", "VICTORIA", etc.. Worked for me.

you would realize that I could understand that some people, albeit a small minority, would find use for this Freebie. If I were as narrow-minded as you are saying I am, I personally, would have stated, "this is a ridiculous offer" without even taking the time looking into this. I say this because it was my initial reaction after fighting back vomit that is. Nowhere in my posting do I point out how ludicrous I think this deal is and leave it at that. Instead, I took to time to, rationally, point out reasons why I think this is a posting with no real “value,” perceived or reality based.
Additionally, I did mention that I struggled with the ability to assess the “quality” of said product. Since I could not figure out how to do this properly, it counted as a negative vote as well. I think if something is of “quality” viewers of any given posting should not have to struggle in order to figure out what the quality is of said item. Perhaps, there are quality products on the site; ones that pet owners do not already have access. However, since most pet owners already carry around their furry friend with them, without having to fill out a form in order to get the same thing they already receive for free, for me there is nothing being offered in this freebie from this company that is of quality in which they are directly responsible for having produced.
Furthermore, it has been my understanding that voting for or against things posted at this site, was to be done based upon the VALUE and QUALITY of the offer posted. Clearly, this posting has neither in spades!
Perhaps you are upset that most everybody posting about this offer are not taking you seriously (and I clearly stated I thought maybe this was a joke posting, something to give people a laugh). I think you have target me because I neg. your Freebie. Really, get a grip. – there, now I am being narrow-minded!

Geez dude, why do you feel the need to defend your posts against any critical comments? It happened in the the free asthma kit thread too. Don't take it personally. Chill out - the bonus with this is you might get less asthma too.

People are entitled to an opinion (and even one different from yours!) without having it bashed or being called narrow-minded. Post some genuine bargains instead of freebies from charities and freaky dog hair hats and you'll get a positive vote from me. You might get more positive reception from this at VeganOzBargain, which I don't believe exists yet.

I love my doggy, I don't feel the need to wear it's fur though, I usually have enough stuck to my clothes to look like it anyway.

        • -1

Thank you Sparkles. AMEN!!! to everything you have said.

        • -2

People are entitled to an opinion

          very true…. however
adding negs to that opinion kills posts…… (which incidentally also kills the opinion…..)

post opinions by all means…. just don't neg them…. Don't forget that a 'no vote' is indeed a vote

      Hi

      Is this OzBargain, or OzMorals?

This is a weird and wacky deal, so it is definitely likely to offend some people. But it IS a bargain. Free Samples are a legitimate way to promote your products on Ozbargain, and I strongly suggest people to not vote negative because they disagree with the product.

      Otherwise, where do we stop?

I'll vote negative on any Apple deal because I disagree with their corporate mentality or their Chinese sweatshops. I'll vote negative on free Coke Zero promotion because the Coca-Cola company is making our society fat.

      Etc.

Remember - I'm not defending the product. I don't know the product. I'm defending the right for the poster/company to offer this "deal" and not have it negged into oblivion.

Anyway, I gotta go and pick up my latest order from my taxidermist.

  • lol.. wtf!
    want a bulldog fur…

    • +1

A bulldogs hair is quite coarse and spiky. This would produce a very scratchy item. You might be better off with Maltese or Poodle fluff. Next time you see one tied up outside the milk bar you could…. oh, on second thoughts….bad idea.

  • A great way to preserve your beloved dead pet…..

  • Weirdest thing I've seen for a while on here.

  • +9

    Some men hunt for sport,
    Others hunt for food,
The only thing I'm hunting for,
Is an outfit that looks good…

See my vest, see my vest,
    Made from real gorilla chest,
Feel this sweater, there's no better,
    Than authentic Irish setter.

See this hat, 'twas my cat,
My evening wear - vampire bat,
    These white slippers are albino
    African endangered rhino.

    • lol im thinking the same thing!

  • +2

I'm kinda confused by those grossed/weirded out by this. Do you wear wool? You know that's from sheeps, right? And leather - that's a dead cow's skin. Dog fur is really not so weird in that context!

    • My "gross" comment was about my initial reaction to actually having to pay for something that is already free. As I have already stated, "time, IE. effort, is money" therefor not a free deal, in this situation. The comment was not because of wearing pet fur, that I do most days whether I want to or not. Granted it is not collect and is a minuscule amount.

Do you wear wool? You know that's from sheeps, right? And leather - that's a dead cow's skin. Dog fur is really not so weird in that context!

You make a good point, by the way.

  • this kinda reminds me of 101 dalmatians.
or the simpsons parody. when mr burns sings "see my vest"

    • lol AvvY already sang it.
      nice!

  • Ok, so maybe the "Bikini from 100% pure Samoyed" is a bit too far, but I still like the unique concept behind the company.

  • +1

OK… looking at it strictly from a bargain point of view. This isn't entirely free either. You have to post your animals fur to the USA. That can be pretty expensive.

ALSO… did anyone stop to think whether you will get the fur back given how strict Australia is in allowing fruits and seeds in country. And how dogs are put under prohibition period before being allowed in. I am sure they will be stricter about letting in dog hair.

Why don't you just email it ???

  • my puppy will be bald after this.

      that's not good… :O

      http://tinyurl.com/3tgzqb3

      • that dog is insane!! LOL

      • This is what will happen to your dog if you get carried away with making your new furry hat.

Your pooch may also become possessed by the devil and kill you in the night.

  • Ha ha. Funniest thing I have read for along time. I say "keep them coming". It would be a pretty boring forum if we didnt have posts like this from time to time.

  • I wonder if this is how THIS doggy lost his fur:

    http://www.prospectmx.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/how-man…

    • man that is one scary looking mofo dog!

blind, poor teeth, no hair, what other ways could it be suffer i wonder

  • You can actually give your pet their 'OWN' fur cloaks!

    Pure GENUIS!!

First impression was bad, but it's just shed fur that come of the comb, no one needs to shave their poor pups.
Come winter, your pets have what's theirs.

Also, check this out - http://www.vipfibers.com/tristan.html
    Bloody awesome!

PS - I would not want to hurt any animal whatsoever, or see that. In fact, I'm a vegetarian :)

  • Well i guess there's now an option other than the microwave for the pesky neighborhood poets that owners don't bother to control!
