Robam Rangehood Reviews?

I do Indian style cooking at home and am looking for a good rangehood for a renovated kitchen. The YouTube videos for Robam seem very impressive and the prices appear to be less than Qasair. However there aren't any reviews available online (which is kind of odd considering that they claim they sell the most rangehoods in the world).

Do you have or have you had a Robam rangehood? What kind of problems do they have? Are they built well and do they do their job? Are they significantly louder than comparable brands?

  • i have a Robam in my house, had it for about 1.5 years and it hasn't missed a beat. We were initially looking at Schwiegen, but a friend recommended Robam and I have no problems recommending it. What sold me is when we were in the store, the guy brought out a 7kg block of wood (they had a scale to weigh it), and the Robam managed to hold it while at it's strongest smell.

    • I could not find any references to a warranty statement on their website. What do they cover and how long do they cover faults?

      • Where are you located? If you're in Melbourne, I bought mine from a place in Clayton on princess highway. But I've been seeing their physical stores popping up in a lot of Asian areas (like Box Hill for one). Go in and speak to them and you can ask 100 questions

The place I bought it from, also sells on eBay so I bought it using o one of the 20% off coupons and picked up in store

        • Hi mate, which model do u have?

        • I belived you're referring to Conik.

I bought a refurbished Electrolux cooktop from there using 20% off eBay. Looked brand new.

          • @JimB: Hey mate, I wanted to buy something from Conik, does this 20% off code come often?

    • Robam is good and reasonably priced.

No doubt the suction is better compared to the Schweigen but you can't compare it to the noise (or lack-of) of the Schweigen.

I went Schweigen 1600 m3/hr motor as I have an open plan kitchen/living.

If noise wasn't an issue or I need to suck up blocks of wood, then I would have got Robam for sure :)

    1. Air flow rate

    2. Static push.

    3. Coverage area of hood.

I've not heard of Robam but have used Qasair and Falmec, all with TotL motors. Never an issue with the fumiest dishes.

  • Do you have an open Lan kitchen? I’d cook outside…just saying.

    • +1

      I’d cook outside…just saying.
Or cook at the Public Barbecue across the road. You don't even need a kitchen, let alone a rangehood!
Ask this guy and he would tell you all about it
