  • not really super fantastic for an unknown brand, the speakers that go with it are 99 bux, so 700 for a full 42" HD tv

vivo's (another unknown brand) are 500 at top buy… (with free shipping!!!)
    http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/VIVO-42inch-106cm-LCD-TV-…

Panasonic 42" (106cm) VIErA Full HD LCD TV 's can be had for a little more than that…

this TV: does have a few extra features (USB recording, 120 HZ)
    - LG Panel
    - LED edgelit backlight
    - Ultra Thin- built-in media play functions
    - USB recording
    - 120 HZ

still seems a bit spamish to me… nothing to compare it too.

  • Given your selling the home theater extras for $99 (WORTH $199… yet your selling it for $99), your effectively paying $700 for the TV. $700 for a 42" no name LED and warranty by AWA, can we assume it's a rebadged AWA then?

    http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/televisions/LCDTV/bpnBIGW…

It is $100 less and it's from a reputable seller (Ie. BigW). Granted it hasn't got a PVR or LED, but it's the first I found and I'm pretty sure I could pick up a PVR of similar quality to this TV for less than $100.

    Sorry, but not incredibly enticing.

EDIT: Evidentally Big W sell the LED equivalent too:

    http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/televisions/LEDTV/bpnBI…

Ok, fair enough the price is better…. even still a lot of money for an untrusted rebadge.

  • Wisc: Thanks for your questions.

The VIVO you refer to is a LCD, not an LED as the OHKI TV is. There is a big difference in picture quality and also energy usage. LED's are much thinner than a LCD TVs. Sorry we did not explain the difference earlier.

Please see the APC magazine article http://apcmag.com/aussie-tv-set-on-the-cheap-ohki-42in-tv.ht… just out this past weekend.

Our TV's are 100% OHKI made, not AWA or any other branded rebagded. AWA support OHKI and many other bigger brands with warranty support. With over 400 technicians Australia wide we are here to help with in home warranty support.

BIG W sell a TV, Rankarena i beleive for $799.00, it is also to a LCD, not LED. Plus ours comes with the great deal of the free home theatre system.

For any other questions please feel free to call OHKI directly on 1300 900 979

    Team OHKI, Doki!

    • Thanks for clearing it up, guess i need something better to compare it too…

  • Does it do media playback as well like mp4 avi etc?

    • ASA79,

Thanks for your question. Yes it does have media playback and also a PVR system.

  • not a real bargain, $799 for a 42" LED LCD TV with only 12 months warranty. Aldi was selling 42" LED TV for about the same price but with 2 years warranty.
To give customers peace of mind I think you should offer longer warranty period.

    • BB_HUNTER,

Thanks for the feedback. I will pass it on to management to look at extending the warranty.

We do over an extended 12mth warranty for $69.00. You may also want to check the diffeent types of warrantys. Is the ALDI a return back to base or an in home service warranty like the one OHKI offers? With the size of these TV's it is much better to have that extra service of a technician coming to your home rather than having to take the TV back to the place of purchase.

      Regards,

      Team OHKI, Doki!

      • I didn't purchase the Aldi TV but they advertised with 2 years warranty I am not sure if it is a on-site or return to depot warranty. One thing i know that with Aldi you do get a 30 or 60 days money back guarantee.
