How much is shipping on Massdrop?

    • US $4.75 to Australia, and the mic itself is US $59.99

Surprisingly reasonable… Can barely get a 500g package across Australia for that price

You can see how I did my own DIY modmic here:
    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/1957255?p=85#r1693

    Nice first post regardless.

    • Thanks! That DIY mic does seem tempting

    • Hi, I just received the lecture microphone that you mentioned in the post, and was wondering how you removed the hook. Did you cut off the metal, or could you pull it off? Thanks.

      • I pulled it out but you want to be careful not to destroy the plastic. If you have some strong glue around you can remove the felt type substance that is hiding the chamber, then you can see how the metal overhead wire is hooked into the plastic. You can then remove the wire, and glue back on the felt substance. Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any questions

        • Yep makes sense, but pulling it out without seeing it is definitely a struggle, I may have to get my hands on some strong glue to help. Thanks for the help!

A single switch on the side lets you choose between the noise-canceling unidirectional mic capsule or the omnidirectional mic capsule.

I would guess by "noise-canceling", they mean "mic holes only on one side of plastic casing instead of both". No way this thing has actual noise cancelling.
