Laptop Advice for Someone out of The Tech Game for a While under $900 / $1k

Been out of the laptop game for some time now.

Requirements:
- SSD + at least 1TB HDD
- 14 - 15 inch
- FHD screen
- Win10
- Video card or decent integrated GPU playing low game ends like TF2
- Touch screen is a bonus

Budget: Under $900 (can stretch maybe)

Current findings:
1. Dell outlet Inspiron 15 5570 @ $659

kicking myself over some of the past deals which would have fit the bill.

That laptop doesn't have a real SSD. RAM is low and no dedicated GPU.
There is this for $999 which is a bit of overkill for the gaming aspect but either than that fits the bill.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply @ FireRunner - was keen on the G series but didnt see them in the refurb search previously.

Do you think for an extra $75 its worth for the i7 version via ebay. although that one strangely doesnt list a SSD…

It probably doesn't have an SSD. For general use and light gaming an i5 will be more than sufficient.
BTW, I've found that Dell eBay is having 20% off so that means you can get a brand new G3 for $1087.20 which, IMO, is worth paying the $88 over the refurb.

      • I'd really go ryzen for gaming. Intels iGPUs are awful if I remember right.

      • best deal close to $1k so far.

In case the extra features are important to you, make sure it says "Win 10 Pro".
"Win 10" usually mean just Home edition.
