Tag Heuer Watches?

Hi,

I am looking for the watch in the link below for my wife for her 40th bday. That's the exact one she wants. Wondering if anyone knows any way to get a good discount on it and what discounted price I should look to pay? I don't need it until mid-June so have time to wait for a deal.

Thanks in advance

    =( $1,900 on a watch with quartz movement. =(

  • Get her an apple watch with apple care or jewellery instead. Swiss watches are expensive to repair.

my swiss auto has been daily beater for 8 years without any servicing/maintenance

how long does apple watch lasts ?

      • Because you haven’t broken the crystal glass yet unlike me. Cost of it getting the sapphire crystal is almost as much as getting a new watch. 🙁

        • not sure what it takes to break the crystal but i'm always amazed not even a scratch left from hitting S/S door handles and stair handrails

      • Oh boy. Don’t you ever dare sell me one secondhand

    You pay for the tag.

As you have time keep an eye on https://www.manontime.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=123, and post here, https://www.manontime.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=45.

HighAndDry's comment reflects the fact that it has a <$30 quartz movement in it. Back in 2011 I bought my daughter https://www.tagheuer.com/en/watches/tag-heuer-formula-1-37-m… as a graduation present. I regret not being able to persuade her to get an automatic but it's what she wanted!

    Happy hunting.

    • Thanks for your help and advice!

Have you tried jomashop? Their prices are usually cheaper than local stores even when you add shipping and import charges.

    • Thanks so much, it's $1300 (ish) there! A huge saving!

i bought my TAG in 1997 Duty Free
i've only had about 5 or 6 battery changes and its still perfect, never needed a service
it would seem disloyal to replace it!

If you shop without her just be brutal and ask for their best price if I buy today. Probably shave 5%

Spend a bit more and get an omega watch

$2k on your wife's birthday present? What did you do wrong?

    • +1

It's her 40th. $2k every ten years isn't too bad - and at that stage of their lives you'd think OP is fairly established and well off.

My wife gave birth 2 days before her 40th, that's the only present she got from me… But I guess that will cost more than 2k every 10 years and hopefully last longer than a watch!

Haha congrats? More on your wife accepting that as a present and not justifying an even bigger present.

And the expenses surely will last longer than those for a watch…

            @HighAndDry:

More on your wife accepting that as a present

Considering I've already given her 3 other babies I'm surprised she was still happy with a fourth. I don't understand women :-(

Setting the benchmark, my 40th is in 3 years time, she will have 3 years to find a comparable gift for my 40th.

Good thinking, my wife was 40 last year and I will be 40 in 2022, maybe I should have bought her a present.

  • Hi. Bought a wbc1313 in Dec 18 from mazachellis for 2350 down from $3100. Fountain Gate vic. Travis was salesman. But it was Boxing Day sale price. Good prices before sale though. Worth a try.

    • Thanks, ill give em a try!
