Is the 17 yr whisky going to give my coke more flavor than a 12 yr one?

    • +4

Great question, as you definitely don't want your whisky to overpower the flavours of the coke.

Just for you they should invent coke cask whisky

  • Ooh that Balvenie 17 is delicious thanks op!

  • Best single malt for less than $60? Keen to hear

    • Shoulder monkey it's not single malt but sure tastes like it.

Monkey shoulder is a blended malt - so no cheap grain whisky in it ala Chivas, Johnnie Walker, Dimple, etc. Good option IMO. Best single malt under $60 depends on whether or not you like Peated whiskies. For non-peated my go to would be Glen Grant 10. For something a bit smokier, try the Ardmore.

Anything else just as good, or compared to Monkey Shoulder?

I am a fan of Glen Grant 10 - just need something a bit cheaper

@bargainhunter87: Glen Grant is $61 at BWS. Otherwise look at Glen Moray, Singleton Dufftown or Spey River.

        • The Ardmore traditional peated it good, quite a bit nicer than the standard Ardmore from Dans. I've only gotten it from duty free though.
