Don't want to wait another month(s) for the "Pre-Order" Xiaomi 3 Pro power bank from overseas? You can now use coupon code "WAITLESS" to get $10 off each Power Bank purchased and enjoy super quick delivery with Amazon Australia!

These USB-PD power banks are good for fast charging phones as well as devices such as Nintendo Switch (Fastest per Speed Ratings), iPad Pro, and USB-C laptops such as new MacBook etc.

Note:

  • Xiaomi 3 Pro and Zmi Aura do not come with a USB-C to USB-C cable, so it's recommended to get a quality one (see accessories below) in order to charge/recharge at optimal speed via USB PD (explained by Belkin).
  • To fast recharge the power banks, it's recommended to use a high power (45W or more) USB PD charger (see accessories below).
  • DO NOT use a parcel locker or PO Box as the delivery address, the couriers (AusPost or Fastway) will not deliver power banks to these. Better to use a work address or somewhere that will be attended as Amazon allows for authority to leave at a "safe" place.

Since the power banks are very new to the market (Australia may be the first overseas market having access to Xiaomi 3 Pro 20k), some Amazon product reviews on the Power Bank would be highly appreciated! Also, quality reviewers could potentially be invited to the Amazon Vine Program and receive early access of free products.

  • Is the QB815 the same weight and size as QB820 despite having 75% less capacity?

    • +1

Same size, slightly (30g) less weight. 25% less capacity

      • Thanks for confirming, oh and yes correct 25% less :)

  • Bought the Zmi Aura off your ebay store yesterday but now looking at the Xiaomi Power Bank 3 Pro. Is there much difference? Im not really up on tech specs I can see higher watts so that means faster charging? Im just after something to power my macbook pro 13 2017 and Galaxy Note 8 phone when I'm overseas travelling next month.

      Hi there

Contact us on eBay to cancel the order if need be.
For MBP I suggest getting the 3 Pro instead of Aura (27W is slightly low for MBP)
Thanks for the interest and support!

  • Which one would you recommend to power 2 seperate car dash cams?

  • I left a neutral review because of the suggestion this will work for the nintendo switch in docked mode. Not only will it likely not, it is with a almost guaranteed chance it will brick your switch - it uses PD in an incorrent way and can brick itself from it.

    • I'm interested to know whether and how did you test/acquire that information.

The Xiaomi 3 Pro 20k to my knowledge should definitely work with Switch in Docked mode with full power output, it uses the same output USB-PD chipset (designed by Zmi) as Zmi 10 power bank, which was recommended as one of the best Switch Power Banks according to Switchchargers.com
      Here's the link: https://switchchargers.com/zmi-qb820-review/

    • I think the Nintendo Switch's bricking issues are to do with the fact that the Switch does not follow the USB-PD spec, and especially when docked.

BUT! Because the dock itself does something to step down the power to the Switch, the bricking issues mostly happen only when using a 3rd party Dock which doesn't do what the original dock does, and generally (huge caveat on that generally) is fine if all you're doing with a charger and/or powerbank is plugging it into the dock.

    • Just sent you a PM and reply on the Amazon product in response to your comment, hope to hear back from you soon.

  • which of the Xaoimi Pro 3 or ZMI 10 would be best for Nintendo Switch, Galaxy Note 9 and maybe MS Surface Pro charging?

  • Mostly Melbourne, can you confirm whether passthrough charging is a feature on all the 4 models here? If not, which one does? Thank you.

    • I was told that the charging circuitry of these ones all support passthrough charging function.

However, it's not recommended to do it for extended period at high power output due to potential damage to the battery cells from excessive heat generated

      • Thank you, heat is definitely not a friend for battery cells.
Will place an order hopefully soon.

  • Arrived this morning and it's a beast compared to my Xiaomi 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2! The display screen is a very nice feature. As expected, charging it at work using my phone charger takes a loooong time to recharge it.

    • Thanks for the feedback, yeah the capacity is 74Wh~ so with a slow charger (e.g. Apple iPhone stock 5W charger) it will take 74/5 = 15 hours to fully recharge!

However, using a high power USB-PD charger (e.g. Xiaomi 45W), the time is reduced to as little as 3.5 hours for the Aura, and less than 2 hours for the Xiaomi 3 Pro 20k.

      • Yes I'll be using a wall charger at home to give it the juice it so richly deserves. Should have specified I got the Aura. Very nice little unit!

  • Thinking of getting the Aura for a Galaxy S10 and an old ipad 3 but I'll need the xiaomi charger to go with. Is there a recommended AU plug I should get?

    • +2

The Blitzwolf S10 or S11 are dirt cheap, they have USB-PD output for fast charging purpose.

If you want to prepare for some future USB-C devices, also consider the travel friendly PowerFalcon 45W one we have

      • Got the Aura, powerfalcon and xiaomi usb c cable ready to go in the cart.
Might get an ipad mini 4 later on.. Would you be able to quickly work out if the aura is suitable for the mini? (Sorry, not much of a tech wiz)

        • Yeah it'll be fine for iPad mini, charging at 12W easily

  • Picked up the ZMI Aura 27W 20000mah.

Took about 5.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100% using the PowerFalcon 45W (I'm presuming the QB822 only charges at 27W, hence the slower charge time to 20,000mah in comparison to the 45W versions).

That is fine, what I am concerned about however, is the fact that charging my 3300mah Galaxy Note 8 took 30% of battery life out of a fully charged 20,000mah power bank. Is this normal? Surely I should be looking at 6 charges for my phone out of a fully charged 20,000 power bank.

    Please advise.

    • Hi Andeh

      1. Yes correct, the Zmi Aura's input power is maxed out at 22W, certainly slower than the 45W versions.
      2. The Note 8 has a 3300mAh battery cell which is similar to the Mi Mix 2S (3400mAh) which was used in the benchmark testing. Zmi claims to be able to recharge it fully 4.5 times.
The Aura's battery cell is rated 72Wh, at 85% conversion efficiency (this decreases as output power increases since more heat is being generated in the process), should be able to recharge the 3300mAh battery (converts to 12.7Wh) at least 4.53 times. Maybe you could try again in a controlled environment with the phone switched off.

We have a full set of test equipment to measure the actual capacity of the battery cells of the product you received, let me know if you are interested and around in Melbourne.

      • No problem, I will switch my phone off when it is nearly depleted, and then complete a full charge to see what effect it has on the powerbank. Should it be taking 30% out of the zmi aura or there about's, this thing will be back in the mail to you.

    • +1

I read that the real capacity of the Aura is 12600mah. Normally you need to consider the actual capacity as opposed to what it is actually claiming. Maybe that's the reason why it drained quickly?

  • Should I get this Xiao Mi Pro over Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh? Which one is better?

    • Do you need USB-C output (i.e. Power Delivery at 18W+)? If yes then Xiaomi 3 Pro. The Anker one you mentioned doesn't have USB-C output, and single port output is maxed out at 18W, the technology is a little bit outdated tbh.

      • Hi, mostly I use it to charge my Note 9 and iphone 8, probably ipad 4 and tab S3 - so which power bank is better for me in term of charging speed? When I charge my Note 9, its like usb c to usb a, so I need to buy a usb c to usb c cable for better charging? Thanks

        • For fast charging Note 9 which uses both Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge (equivalent to QC2.0) and USB-PD, either a standard USB to USB-C cable or USB-C to C cable will be fine.

Out of the devices you currently have, the only one that will benefit from the higher power output of Xiaomi 3 Pro is iPhone 8 which can take up to 18W via USB-PD as opposed to 12W from normal USB.

However, if you do plan on adding more devices, e.g. MacBook, iPad Pro, newer tablets and laptops (both of which predominantly use USB-PD for fast charging nowadays), the Xiaomi 3 Pro will have a better longer term value.

  • Hey OP, I have a Galaxy S9+ and a Switch. From what I read in your comments above, the S9+ wouldn't benefit from the USB-PD from the Xiaomi 3 Pro. But when it comes to the Switch, just how much is the difference from the 3 pro to this:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/XIAOMI-20000mAh-Charge-Li-ion-Batt…
How much faster will it charge the Switch?

    • +1

Referring to this graph again speed ratings, the difference is Class 1 - SuperB vs Class 4 - Good Enough.

So quite two different classes of devices.

  • This battery looked exactly like what I wanted it, so I bought it. It arrived nice and fast, but the manual is all in Chinese.

Does it have a low-power charging mode, like for a watch or earphones? Is it activated by double-pressing the power button like other models?

    Cheers!

    • Yes you can engage low power mode for 2 hours by double-press the button. Appreciate the feedback and would be even better if you can post something on Amazon product page!

  • Deal is back on. Same prices.
