Oral-B Smart 7 Electric Toothbrush $99 @ Shaver Shop Online

260

This seems to be a good deal for an Oral-B electric toothbrush with Bluetooth. Do not know how it compares with the Triumph or Genius Series 8000/9000.
RRP indicated as $269. Did a quick google and it is selling at $159 elsewhere.

For free delivery over $100, perhaps add one of the Lif3 SmartChip for $2 as per this OzBargain deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/441473

  • Seems like a good price for a toothbrush with lithium ion battery.

  • We just bought the Genius 9000 at 170. These all use the same motor so essentially same thing other than the extra gadget type features oh and the 8000 and 9000 come with the travel case that is a charge base that you can also plug in a usb device to charge. So the 7 is a good deal

Ok so this is probably a stupid question but why is bluetooth in a toothbrush?

    • +2

it connects to your phone for a deep dive into your teeth cleaning data

    • I wanted to ask myself, but I went looking for an answer. Still feel it's weird, but it must be worth something if people are buying it.

Oral-B's latest electric toothbrush connects to the Oral-B app on your phone. The results? You'll get real-time feedback on your brushing. You'll know if you're brushing too hard, if you've brushed long enough and even if your brushing habits have improved over time. The Oral-B 7000 delivers clinically proven superior results, so you won't wonder if you're getting a superior clean.* You'll know it.

I had it on my old oral b and used it twice and never again after that. Useless.

Not to detract from the deal but I have moved to Soocas and haven’t looked back.

    • Interesting. Didn't know XiaoMi makes electric toothbrush too. How long does the rechargeable battery last after a year? Shall try it next time… a few years from now after my current Oral-B electric toothbrush calls it a day.

Catch is having a promotion on this Soocas X3 for $78.08: https://www.catch.com.au/product/soocas-x3-usb-rechargeable-…

Those wary of the Chinese government spying on them maybe concern it uses nanotech to track location, hear what is said or know what food is eaten:-)

    • As a dentist who has tested soocas the cleaning doesn't compare to an Oral B. They really are the best electric toothbrushes in the market.

  • I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be a lot more talk (from my family, colleagues and dentist) recently about electric toothbrushes being better than manual. I just had my dentist appointment a week ago and she recommended I switch to electric… I go for a clean every 6 months and this was the first time electric toothbrushes were even mentioned.

Was there some scientific research papers released recently?

I can't help but feel it's some kind of marketing push by Oral-B (and/or other companies).

    • I still use manual toothbrush though I can personally vouch that the teeth seem cleaner/whiter (to myself) when I use an electric toothbrush, the cheap entry level #29 Oral-B from Coles.

My kids use the higher end Oral-B electric toothbrush, similar to this SMART 7, since they had braces and their teeth are good. They changed the type of brush head after the braces were removed.

What I don't believe is dentist telling me to brush my teeth in circular motion with the manual toothbrush - seriously how does one do it with the rectangular tooth brush?! This I think is from the prevalent use of electric toothbrush.

  • Bluetooth not needed, just gimmicky, but they work well.

Ive had to see a specialist, i.e. an Endontist and he also recommended electric

Instead of the dubious SmartChip, look at something more useful to get it over $100 for free shipping.

    This looks OK for $13.99
    https://www.shavershop.com.au/oral-b/precision-clean-toothbr…

Subtract the $2 you would have wasted on the SmartChip, and that comes to $11.99 for 3 brushes. Win!!

Or search for "Toothbrush Head Refills" for others.

    • I agree this is much better option since the replacement brush heads will be needed later. I considered this option too but do not know are the brushes on Shaver Shop overpriced, so didn't included this. Excluding compatibles, where is the best place for genuine Oral-B replacement brush heads on regular price?

  • I can't find much info on this model. Does the smart travel case charge the toothbrush? If so take it take 110v?

If you have Shipster, then no matter 100 or not, you can get free shipping

  • Showing up as $129 when I click the link?

    • The deal was posted a month ago.

      • Thanks, report submitted!
