Unfortunately I have looked into specialised running gear - especially socks. I really like the Decathlon running sock because it is cheap, doesn't cause blisters (for me at least) on long runs and is comfortable.
You're looking for a few things in a running sock - mostly comfort and blister prevention. Blister prevention comes from a well fitting sock with some kind of moisture wicking ability. 'Coolmax' is a propriety fibre blend that a fair few socks tend to use (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coolmax). Other considerations are seams - don't want a big old seam under anywhere that will rub. Thickness also important. These are similar to coolmax with this blend " Socks : 53.0% Cotton, Socks : 46.0% Polyamide (PA), Socks : 1.0% Elastane"
They can also be expensive - a pair of Drymax can be $20-$25, similar for Thorlo.
So $1/pair plus shipping is a pretty good price. I prefer the ones with slightly higher tops then the cut off ones. Usually $4.50/three pack (Buy two get one free).

I don't understand how this works… Do you buy 2 packs of 3 pairs, and get the third pack free (9 pairs of socks total)?
Or buy 1 pack with 3 pairs of socks, but only pay for 2 pairs?
Because you can't buy 2 pairs (like the description suggests), since they come in a pack of 3 pairs.
Agree it isn’t well worded. Add three “packs” to your cart and it deducts $4.50 at checkout.

Also out of curiosity - decathlon prices tend to be pretty good already but what makes a sock a running sock specifically? I run but haven't really looked into specialised gear much.
