Accor Plus renewal through Fiji accor

Has anyone done that recently? I found out today that it's costing significantly more to renew now as it's roughly aud 285 to renew. Is this to do with our weak currency or accor finally increased the price to catch up the loophole?

    AUD has only depreciated about 5% vs FJD in the last year, so that's not it. Mine's due mid-March so I just e-mailed my contact to check it out. She got back in touch right away. My renewal fee was 289 FJD (not AUD), it's just been processed on my AmEx and confirmed. So that's about 191 AUD, less than the ~220 AUD I paid last year when I signed up (though I recall they said that renewal was less expensive than the initial join). Is your 285 AUD including a supplementary card for your spouse or something? Is it possible you confused their price quoted in FJD as being in AUD?

    Still way better value than 395 AUD, and worth it for the free night alone, even without using dining benefits or silver status.

    Not that most on here would consider getting it this way a bargain, but the AMEX Plat Charge does come with Accor Plus. Not sure if cancelling the card early removes the status.

      Annual fee $1450 is a bit too much for most of us.

    According to my contact in Fiji the new rate now includes a supplementary card for your partner (this is the new offer), hence the price increase.
    I understand renewals have to be done in the country in which you joined but happy to share Fiji contact details via PM for anyone considering joining if that helps.
    Previously my Fiji renewals have been cheaper than my initial membership, but not sure if they will progressively move renewals onto the same deal.

    By the way I thought I would let you guys know if anyone is interested - that I was able to secure an Accor Plus Membership through Indonesia. Finding the right agent that was able to do this and actually spoke perfect English took some time.
    Prices as follows:

    New Membership 1 stay plus IDR 2,500,000 ($250 AUD)
    Yearly Renewal 1 stay plus IDR 2,300,000 ($230 AUD)
    New Membership 2 stay plus IDR 3,900,000 ($390 AUD)
    Yearly Renewal 2 stay plus IDR 3,200,000 ($320 AUD)

    It was all a relatively painless exercise. I paid for a 1 stay plus membership on Monday at 12 midday and by 3:00pm that day I had a confirmation email from Accor Plus that my LeClub Classic account has now been upgraded to Accor Plus Silver membership. 48 hours later my 1 stay plus was activated on the Accor App. When you arrive at your hotel or restaurant you only need to show the Accor Plus ‘E-card’ in the app. However, if you still want the physical Accor Plus card and physical yearly Indonesia only vouchers (i.e. 2x rooms upgrade certificates, 4x breakfast certificates for 2 people, 1x birthday cake & IDR 300,000 dinning certificate) there are a few ways for this to be sent to you or picked up.

      Also - with regards the 1 night can that be anywhere? (e.g. Australia?) or does it have to be a hotel in Indonesia?

    In my search journey I found a link offers membership at a 20% discount: eg Plus AUD199, Explorer AUD319, Discovery AUD343

    So trying to work out if worth joining via Fiji or above.

      The cheapest membership you mention probably doesn't have the free night.
      The standard membership (with the free night) is the Explorer & Fiji works out a fair bit cheaper & has the advantage that all renewals will be even cheaper still (whereas the local link usually goes back to normal price).

      I believe joining via another country is OK, but its normally intended for visitors that are staying at one of the Accor properties (or people who live there of course) - presumably why you need to be in the country to use the link.
      Fiji is a bit different as it is a family & friends type offer that is typically from guests that have stayed there but it is a bit more expensive than Hong Kong (and only has the option of a free night - they only offer the Explorer option).
