This is a simple and very powerful card reader in the world. The USB smartmouse/phoenix card reader has only 1 USB port, which is used for power and data transfer. The computer will look the card reader as CAM interface after installing the driver. This card reader supports 5 Crystal frequencies(3.579MHz,6MHz,8MHz, 10MHz and 12MHz), both 3.3V and 5V card voltage and Phoenix/Smartmouse working mode. It’s ideal for reading most ISO 7816 smartcard.

    • It's to read these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_cards (sim cards for example). I'm not sure it's a bargain, the only other ones I can find are cheaper and don't have this variable voltage/frequency feature.

      • the variable frequency feature is a good thing.
        Standard Price though, also doesnt state how much postage is

        • The postage is US$4.26 to Australia via Singapore Post.

  • The variable clock speeds may allow the inserted card to be overclocked (if the card permits it) so it responds faster to requests. This is known to be useful for sharing Pay TV.

  • I looked at ordering one a few months ago.. i think the shipping was around 8 bucks. but dont quote me on it, as rewstar said, its their standard price.
