  • Rep, are these suitable for prescription lenses?

  • This seems like the right place to ask. What is the cheapest way to get a set of prescription cycling sunglasses?

    • Don't?

Some come with a clip that you can get a prescription cut to, like an insert that sits behind the actual sunglass lenses. Although I'd just ask your optometrist. The people who make prescription lenses can usually do some tricky shit these days and should be able to make you some to fit the actual frame, but you'd be losing out on alot of tech that's gone into the original lenses.

I could share alot more knowledge but I'd be cutting my own throat

    • most stores a that sell safety equipment have prescription safety wrap around glasses, typiclayy less than $20.

      i have a pair of +1.5 cost me $18 ….

safety wear shops are great for wrap around cycling glasses, they have clear, tints, etc and they also come in brands eg bolle, carrera if you you like branding, and are much cheaper than cycle shops ….. have never paid more than $20 for a pair.

These look suitable for dealing speed.

    • Thanks for the laughs :)

    A bit loud.
But if my technicolour Mapei jersey is not attracting enough attention, I fail to see how some tasteless sunglasses will do the job.
Will need something more 1980s Elton John

And triple digit price for non-prescription? I think you may be on the wrong website.

But they are "New for 2015" and have "Integrated frontal air ventilation"! If you have money for the Mapei jersey you'll certainly get these ones as well.

  • We all look different driving our cars, individual personalities but cyclists all look the same. Like little robots.. which freaks me out. Stop it.

functionality and the forms it takes has been refines over time, so yes most cycling glasses are a particular shape (wrap around) as that works best , colour and a brand is one of the few things you can use to individualize.

same with cycle clothing ….the cut and material has been refined so color choice is all you can do to individualize.

little robots ….spare a thought for the food delivery riders eg under eats with their huge back packs, they know how to stand out in a crowd.
