      I know someone who still uses a K8 CPU…

    • I still use a S939 AMD X2 3800+ ….

/me goes and cries in corner.

      • Lots of people still use a K8, but who on earth would be buying a heatsink for one?

        • Maybe to replace a noisy fan?

    • while you do in actual fact have a point… you cant neg it cause you think no one has that socket anymore!!!
on the other hand you could neg it cause its thermaltake… still pretty much regretting my decision to get one…

man i dont even know how many faults mine had… lets see if i can list them

      • reset switch used to reset the computer whenever i tapped the case… or stomped in the room to loud… (ended up unplugging it)
      • have broken a number of back clips that are designed to keep the cards in
      • a number of top fans have died (within warantee)
      • have gone though a number of flow meters (from clicking to leaking to stopping and forcing the water cooling to stop)
      • the sides of the case that hold the side panel on broke.
      • the front door the bits that hold the door in broke…

      ahmm…
      think thats it…

    • Until this year there was still an AMD 2100+ based PC active and in daily use in this house for hours each day. If both hard drives hadn't failed is a short timespan, it'd probably still be running today :)

  • methinks if b3n put "pickup only" in title that would go down better, huh?
i think if you're close by 2 bucks for the fan alone would make it worthwhile….

  • Good price for a heatsink though…it's even thermaltake!

    • thats not a good thing…

      • at least its better than the cheap CPU coolers on ebay

waiting on the price of a coolermaster cpu cooler to go down :(

        • 212+ isn't much.. are you actually broke or just exercising the inner OxBargainer? :P

        • He's a student (who's also broke) and spends 10hr per day on Ozbargain…

        • @Mark

lol that's the one i'm looking for :)

          it's $33!

hoping to get off @ OCAU @ Brisbane

          My 24 hour day

          6hr school
          10hr Ozb
          8hr sleep ;)

        • wow.. broke as in broke.. lol
I'd send you up one if I wasn't already saving for a build and contemplating upgrades on this rig.. but I better shut my mouth before the wrath of ozpete comes upon me :P

  • giving a + for nerd-factor (yeah.. i gotta socket 754 i run for certain jobs)

  • If you live in the area then you could use the heatsink on lots of other things than its intended purpose. It's still a heatsink :)
