Found The Scoopon Phone Number

Hi all,

I've finally tracked down a phone number for all those unsatisified scoopon customers.

Scoopon is operated by Catch of the Day, which is operated by "shop closeouts pty ltd"

Here they are on whitepages:
http://www.whitepages.com.au/busSearch.do?subscriberName=Clo…

The switchboard brings you to an annoying message greeting service, which isnt much use… so if you want to get through to a human being, just keep incrementing the last for digits of the phone number until someone picks up. for example, I got through to someone in their research team yesterday on (03) XXXX 7392. At first the agent was hesitant to confirm which company he worked for but i eventually confirmed he worked for COTD/scoopon. I've deliberately not posted the full number here incase it is against ozbargain policy. Just follow the whitepages link if you want the number.

After you get through to someone, I suggest you don't end the call until you reach a fair and reasonable resolution about any outstanding matters you have.

Also this thread brushes on their address

  • Good work.

  • +2

I would expect that number to be changed pronto! ;)

  • What do you mean by incrementing the last 4 digits of the phone number?

  • +3

It won't be easy for them to change this. The number listed in the white pages is their switchboard number, but they operate a whole block of phone numbers that are similar. i.e.

    (03) 86xx 7389
    (03) 86xx 7390
    (03) 86xx 7391
    (03) 86xx 7392
etc (just keep incrementing the last few digits)

again. i havent posted the full phone number here because it might be against ozbargain policy. follow the whitepages link i posted above for the "starting" number

LOL, you are evil! Remind me never to piss you off d3vi8r! ;)

Over the next few days, I'll be uploading a template "letter of demand" for ozbargainers and also providing some tips on how to have your scoopon related scam heard at a local tribunal / small claims hearing

This is about to get very messy and expensive for COTD/Scoopon

        • -2

hi they got me $175.00 because i forgot to book in march…. i only read the three day holiday had to be taken before september i missed out by 2 weeks it pays to read the SMALL PRINT A but i have,t given up yet

This is the address I'll put on the letter of demand template im putting together for all those who have been scammed by scoopon

LOL - someone was trying to get a refund for a Canberra hotel deal that has possibly oversold. They were referring to that deal as a Lottery and that is what this business is listed as.

Don't forget the ATO. I am sure they should have been issuing tax invoices to everyone, not just those who ask for them.

      • The business isn't listed as a lottery, it's just a particular licence they hold so that they can legally hold promotions.

Hey I just got off the phone to them well done :) I was actually very nice to them on the phone to try resolve the issue im having with LITTLE SCENTS and ive been promised within 24 hours to have either it resolved or a full refund :) lets see how its goes and I can not see them getting their number changed that soon ha! they also asked how I got the number i pointed out the ATO and they are on white pages hehe fell so much better now :) thanks for your help

    • I have an issue with Little Scents as well. I haven't gotten around to bringing it up. What was your problem? Did they send you something different from what you ordered? Or tell you you couldn't order certain items?

  • Haven't posted any rants lately, d3vi8r. Have you been refunded or threatened by Scoopon?

    • +4

I managed to track down the contact details for the previous MOCEAN RESTAURANT BONDI owner. I told him there was a heap of angry people on the internet that wanted his contact details. The refund was in my account within an hour on condition that I keep his details private

      • +1

Haha. I will miss your rants on this.

        • +1

Everyone else with a Mocean issue should ask again for a refund.

      • Can I please pm emailed scoopons number. I have waited a week for a reply and so busy with other stuff I have not contacted my credit card company nor fair trading. As of tomorrow that is my first goal.

      • The refund was in my account within an hour on condition that I keep his details private

I suppose you can be thankful it wasn't contingent upon you keeping his privates detailed! :p

        • +2

Just call up Mocean and explain the situation. That's what I did and I obtained the details of the previous owner

Yeah it looks like she was not telling the truth. If you look at the catch of the day website, you'll see that it's registered office is at XX Cochranes Rd Moorabbin. That address is linked to the phone number you posted via the white pages.

PS. Best to edit out a few digits in that phone number. The mods might delete your post because CATD/Scoopon tend to threaten legal action to OZBargain when full phone numbers/addresses are posted.

      • I am removing the grand-parent comment. No really legal action, but the number posted actually reach to one specific individual who works at Scoopon.

I know they are under the same parent company, but it's a mid-size enterprise now. A staff working on one part of the company (who might not even be in customer support role) would not be able to help you with your issues with the other part of the company.

umm scotty i believe they can if they really want to such as redirecting me to the right department or atleast taking my name and number and giving it to the right department.

jeez seems like u r supporting COTD. There was no need to remove the entire comment but the number.

is there a edit button. I must be going blind.

    • Maybe it disappears after a few minutes..?

      • +1

You cannot edit your comment once someone has replied to it

  • try this number found here http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1286132 if anyone wants too. I've decided not to bother with calling and have filed a paypal dispute.

  • thanks been really pissed off since saturday, no answer from scoopon by email.

I today tried that phone number (03) XXXX 7392 and got a message
"extension 7016 is blah blah blah" basically your call gets hand balled to nowhere so they don't take any calls.

I have requested a refund from the scoopon participant due to various reasons.
They said they can't issue refunds that Scoopon do that.
Emailed Scoopon and they say it's the provider of the deal that has to issue them.

I tells ya, I'm starting to make a whole in this wall that I'm smashing my head against.

Extremely frustrating to say the least!

Can you please advise your ticket ID, that you would have received after emailing our support team?
It will look like ABC-123456 - we will ask our Team Leader to review your query and get back to you as quickly as possible.

      Kind Regards,
      Team Scoopon.

  • I think I will need to try to call them tomorrow for an explanation. Thanks for the numbers!!
QQQ - CatchOfTheDay who is shown as the Rep on OzBargain posted that the coupon/voucher could be applied through email if you missed during checkout. See link http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/49178.

But I got a reply from their admin saying quote:
    "Thanks for your email.
We don't have a rep with OzBargain, or have anything to do with this establishment.
We cant add a voucher once payment has been made.
    Kind regards,

    Jaime
    Customer Service Crew"

Can someone suggest who I should take it up to?

    • Hi D Noxious,

I cannot speak on behalf of our Sister Company - Catch Of The Day - but we do not provide support via phone, as we can only provide conversation tracking via email support.
We are not able to provide phone support at this time, as we do not have conversation tracking capabilities at this time. Also, Scoopon and Catch Of The Day do not provide support through public forums such as OzBargain.com.au due to our privacy policy.

If you have any queries that you would like the Catch Of The Day team to help you with, you can reach them via [email protected]

      Kind Regards,
      Team Scoopon.

  • I bought a scoopon to a resturaunt. the restuaraunt closed down. Now I'm out of pocket.

I've contacted scoopons through their BS help system twice. I've spoken to three different staff members and the conversations have just stopped being replied to and I'm still out of pocket.

Scoopons You're a joke! I think it's time to go to QCAT, thanks for the contact details above.

    • Hi Mitchell

I've been having some issues with Scoopon and the service provider for about 2-3 weeks.
My complaint has been through the help centre a few times, but I have not received a reply or solution in 2 weeks.

I bought a $275 scoopon for Izumi massage. Initially it took days for me to successfully contact this company, as the two phone numbers provided seemed to ring out every single time i called. When I finally spoke to a lady, she informed me that the company had been lost in a fire.
I got one reply from a scoopon agent saying that the company had relocated, and provided me with a phone number to book. This however, was the exact same phone number as before and I've continued to attempt calling them for 2 weeks. The phone has no been answered once.
I can't even make a booking for this, I feel like its a bit dodgy and I'm pretty unhappy with the delay in response from scoopon. $275 is not an amount of money I can just throw away. I would like to get refunded.
Could you help me with this please.
      My order number is: 5250655

      Thanks.

      Jill

      • My complaint has been through the help centre a few times, but I have not received a reply or solution in 2 weeks

        Hi Jill,

        Thanks for your comment.

One of my colleagues in Customer Services has responded to your latest Help Centre request today.

Although there was a fire at their previous address, the contact number for the business hasn't changed and is the same as it was prior to the fire.

Please note that responses may have been delayed slightly as 3 separate help requests have been submitted by yourself for the same issue. Please also note that every time you update a request before you receive a reply, your request is automatically re-queued as a new request.

The Scoopon voucher in question is valid until 25th December 2013 and, in line with our Terms & Conditions and the 'Fine Print' on the deal page, bookings are subject to availability.

For the inconvenience and confusion caused, I've applied $10 in Store Credit to your Scoopon account which can be used towards your next Scoopon purchase.

        Thanks

        Mitchell - Scoopon

        • Sorry Mitchell.

The deal has chenged. There is a new address, one that the compainant may not be willing to travel to. Who knows what else has chenged. Hours, staffing, equipment, etc…

Bookings may be subject to availabilty, but not answering the phone for weeks is unacceptable.

JILL- go directly to ADMA. You should get an immediate refund. Period. If you go to the ADMA you WILL get one.

        • @voteoften What govt body is ADMA ?

      • Hi Jill,

One of my colleagues in Customer Service has contacted the Deal Provider on the telephone number provided.

We have now passed-on your contact details to Izumi Japanese Massage and requested that they contact you as soon as possible to assist with your booking enquiry.

        Thanks

        Mitchell - Scoopon
