Why Does The Lenovo Active Pen 2 Cost So Much in Australia?

Ok so I just got a yoga 730 and I wanted to get the pen too but after looking around it costs over $100 and on lenovos Australian store it's nearly $150?!

On the US and Canadian official lenovo stores, the pen is less than $50 aud so why is such a small item being sold at such a premium here? I looked at getting shipping forwarding from Canada (the US store says they don't deliver to shipping forwarding companies) but it costs $130 even for such a small item. I vaguely remember a US shipping forwarding company that has addresses that aren't detected as shipping forwarders but I can't find those now.

Does anyone know how I can get it cheaper? I don't want to pay double the price, let alone 3 times the price. I am willing to buy someone's off them even.

    Because Australia

    • Yes but 3 times the price is absolutely ridiculous. If everything was 3 times the price then we would be living in poverty

  • If anyone is going to the US anytime soon, I'll pay you $5 to put a freaking pen in your pocket and bring it back to me

why not buy one off aliexpress for ~$35

  • Check to see if you can find it as a spare part, as often the Accessory/Option comes in a nice box and is meant for retail so has higher price.
But the spare part comes in a brown box, if at all, and is intended as a replacement for a loss/failure and can be cheaper.

    • As in on eBay? Where would I search for it as a spare part?

  • Have you tried Newegg? They ship to AUS now I think (got a SDD and mouse from them)

No idea if the below ships here but worth a shot, there's multiple sellers as well.

  • Any Wacom protocol (not MPP/N-trig) pen is compatible with Lenovo laptops so check if there are cheaper options.

    • Well it has to be aes 1.0 for 1.0 digitisers which I'm pretty sure the 730 has (I have looked everywhere for official documentation on what digitiser my laptop has but the resources are very limited) so that means I can only use the aes 1.0 pens, which takes out all the rechargeable pens, as well as tilt support
