Techfast Gaming PC Advice Ryzen

I am newish to PC gaming and want to play 1080P 60fps mainly.

I am selling my laptop and buying a pc and these two deals from Techfast Ebay look like great value. I have to decide before the 28th!

I am deciding between

Ryzen 3 2300X / RX570 8GBVRAM / $439.20
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192845651614

and

Ryzen 5 / RX580 8GBVRAM / $599.20
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ryzen-5-2600-RX-580-8GB-120GB-SS…

I am after best bang for buck and something that will last me a while/be semi future proof. I already have a freesync monitor and want to play NBA 2k19, PUBG, Apex, Divinity Original Sin 2 etc.

Suggestions as to which one I should choose would be appreciated including what upgrades I should add. Budget is $650.

Thanks

  • Get the second option, It's not great, but if you upgrade the motherboard in the future you can potential upgrade your CPU to new Ryzen that is set to release this year and get something like a GTX 1660 Ti.

If you order from Techfast, from what a lot of people have said on here be prepared to wait a month to even get your system.

    • Thanks. Yeah I'm not worried about the long waiting time.

Second one will definitely last you longer. It will be the year 2030 and you will thank yourself you invested the extra money back then.

First one is good if you plan to upgrade or resell within 5 years but I reckon the second one will make you happier give less headaches and require less time unless you like switching computers frequently go the Ryzen 5 / RX 580.

      A reassuring response, thanks.

By 2030 we'll probably be streaming games through Google Stadia.

      • That's optimistic.

        • NBN2 $150b rollout soon to upgrade NBN

      • Of whoever tries to mimic it and perfect it.

    • I'll definitely upgrade the motherboard

  • hey i have the 2nd one. if ur graphics card isnt damaged, itll be sweet. initially i had to get the graphics card replaced. after that i was dealing with constant BSOD. i fiddled around with windows settings and turned off notifications in games. eventually BSOD stopped and now its running perfectly. youll be happy with it, especially for the price

    • That sounds a bit stressful.

Do you have the Leaper Pro RGB case too? Can you turn off the RGB lighting?

How are the temps, does it overheat at all?

Is the power supply adequate, do you think I should upgrade it?

      Thanks

      • Power supply and temps are fine. I have the older basic case

      • You can turn off the rgb by long pressing reset botton. Their case isn't that great. It you find the system noisy or hot, buy better case.

        • Fans would be the better buy. You'd also want a mobo that supports more then 1 fan header

  • Definitely the second option

  • You need a HHD with either 120gb is enough space for the OS and 1 game max. It will slow down if its 70% or more filled. And it will slowly fill over time so… yeah don't let it get to that point if you can.

  • Definitely the second one. I'm currently using a Ryzen 2600 myself, with an (ageing) GTX 970… Never had to worry about graphics sliders :)

Techfast no longer sell the 2nd deal, as of 27/3. Discovered as I went to my ebay checkout to pay. :(
    Only sell a Ryzen 5 2600 RX 580 8GB 120GB SSD 8GB DDR4 Gaming PC + 27" Mon KBM for $938 and jacked up Windows 10 price.

    • They must have sold out. I actually ended up going with the first one anyway and can upgrade as needed as I go along.
