Pixel 2 XL Android 9.0 "Your Battery May Run out Soon" Notification

Hey all,

Want to just see if others are getting the same randomness I am.

My Pixel 2XL (running the latest security patch) keeps telling me "your battery may run out soon" earlier.

It was normally always around 15-20%. Then after a while it was between 20-25% (almost always 22%). Now it's been creeping up further to 100% every few charges.

The notification now tells me at 33%.

Sure it gives me a secondary one at around 10-19% (most recent was 12%) but this is still strange and has got me curious.

It has just morphed into 2 notifications with one being ridiculously early now (still around 4 hours left - "should last until 11pm") and the secondary normal one.

Has this happened to anyone else?
It's not a big deal but I just wonder how far it will go up. 40%? More?

I've tried the obvious solution that the battery isn't lasting as long and thus sending earlier notifications but my battery health is fine.

    Best solution would probably be to get rid of Google's Android, and flash a Custom Rom.
    Free yourself from Google's grasp, and shut down many of the services that run without your knowledge and permission. Think of it like a detox, just like how people modify the Windows10 Pro system, so that it uses less resources and doesn't have Microsoft Spyware installed. You can achieve a much leaner Operating System on the Pixel 2XL, which will increase the device's efficiency and probably give you a more accurate representation of your battery's health and the battery life performance. You might be surprised with what you find: no need to upgrade phones, or lose your waterproofing whilst replacing the battery.

    Just one way you can look at this.

    I have the same issue. The notifications start at 30% and buzz my Gear S2 every 30 seconds or something. If you find a solution, I'm keen to find out too

      No this must have been last month's patch then because I didn't get one just yesterday.
